“We had salads for lunch here and they were fantastic! Fresh ingredients, unique toppings and homemade dressings with fresh baked rolls. We also tried some of their cake balls that were tasty and not too sweet. Definitely worth a repeat visit!“

“This place is amazing, but the staff is better. Angela Napps at the Athens, TX location is the best. She is our favorite server. She is so polite, happy, and always smiling. Her and my daughter have sparked a friendship and to see their faces when they see each other just makes my heart happy. This lady is amazing!!!“
“Excellent service, beautiful restaurant both inside and out, and great food. I ordered a barbacoa torta (7.5/10) and tacos al pastor (8.5/10). The decor is great overall, especially the portraits of famous Mexican entertainers. Could use less ceramic fruit and lizards on the blue walls. Overall experience 9/10, I highly recommend!“
“The food wasn't as great as I had hoped. But I just had crab legs. Probably not the specialty around there! My family members loved the crawfish and my grandson ate all of his chicken and fries!Kid-friendliness: My 3 y/o grandson loved it!“
“I happened upon this place while traveling through Texas and it was so good that I made sure to stop by again on my return trip. Not only did I have the best sandwich I've had in ages, it was an extra special treat to find celiac-friendly options on the road. I also want to say an extra thank you to the staff. The reason I came to Texas was for handler training for my new service dog. Not only was it one of our first outings together, it was her first time in a restaurant! We were both nervous, but the staff was really kind and and accommodating. They also asked about our needs in a discreet way. You get a lot of attention with a service dog, and that can be uncomfortable. They took care of us without doing so in a way that put all eyes on us, as I've experienced elsewhere. I couldn't have asked for a better reception on top of a great meal.“
“Stopped in today for our first meal at the reopened Cross Roads. Excellent experience. My husband ordered the lunch special which was a torta and fries . He chose brisket as the protein. The bread was fresh and hot with smoky brisket and sliced avocado and the fries crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. I had the quesadilla plate with chicken as the protein. My rice and beans were both very tasty and the quesadilla was delicious. Packed nicely with green peppers and mexican cheese with a generous amount of chicken. Best of all complimentary chips and salsa, hot, fresh and with just the right amount of crispness. So glad to have this new addition to our local dining options. FYI, they are currently BYO, so next time a cold Sol will be in our cooler. ( although their ice tea was quite nice )“
“We had a wonderful dinner with my mother Nancy Andree who is owner of the Geranium House here in Athens and friends and family as we were wishing her farewell because she would be leaving the following day for a one-year mission trip to the capital city of Managua, Nicaragua ?? to teach English at the Hosanna Bible Church there and we had a wonderful time visiting and eating and laughing and catching up and just loving one another and we were glad to do it at your restaurant, it was an honor!“
“We made a quick trip to Athens and wanted a good breakfast. The Athens Cafe gave us what we were looking for! I had the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs. The batter is great, and the gravy was perfect. Both our eggs came out as we had requested. Toast, grits, bacon, and tomatoes were all good! Really good coffee! We would definitely suggest stopping by if you are in the area.“
“Definitely easy to miss coffee spot with a homey feel because... it's actually a house! Oversized leather sectional (well worn, almost too worn), but definitely a lot of character. Like walking into sassy grandparents' house, you'll find a plethora of vintage trinkets and cheeky wall decor and three seating areas. My favorite was the smaller, more private room with windows, but it was occupied and I wasn't planning in staying. Got my The Psyco latte with oatmilk to go. It was absolutely delicious! I love the Mexican hot chocolate along with raspberry flavors. Very creative menu offerings for drinks. Baked goods looked yummy too but I skipped. Don't know if I'll ever pass through here again, but I definitely enjoyed my visit.“
