“My wife and I were searching all over to find a taqueria with barbacoa. We even considered driving 20 miles. Little did we know, right in our backyard, is Pollo Regio. It was clean, the staff friendly, ave some of the best barbacoa tacos I have ever had. Took me back to Sunday mornings as a kid. We will definitely be returning here!“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Torchys in Frisco, Hollyhock location and I must say, the service and hospitality exceeded my expectations! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the bartender Eric who was very attentive and friendly. Aside from the impeccable service and hospitality, the food was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend this Torchys location. You wont be disappointed!“

Lo único decepcionante para mi es que dos veces eh ordenado Gorditas de Chicharrón Prensado y al llegar a la casa me doy cuenta que es de chicharrón duro o peya como se le conoce en Torreon. Esta última vez llame para estar segura que tenían del prensado y me dijeron que si pero no me dan el correcto. No se cual sea el problema si las de cocina o la que atiende la orden o simplemente no saben la diferencia entre uno y otro“

“I'm from out-of-state and when I arrived in town I ordered a dozen of the peas & potato enchiladas and tamales for a family gathering for the Labor Day weekend. The food was off the charts! It's the BEST authentic Mexican cuisine south of the border. Literally, I was homesick for Mexican food and La Estrella Mini Market hit the bullseye. Thank you again for the wonderful experience of your food. You're the BEST in your field. You're definitely worth the trip! See you soon.“

“They have live music which is a BIG plus since there are few options in Denton with Live music. Tonight’s band Latin rock with a good balance between Latin and American music. The food quality and flavors are exceptional!! and budget friendly!“

“For our first time eating at this establishment, we were rather impressed. We happened to be the only ones there, but it was a Wednesday night and close to 830. We had the chicken tortilla soup, beef fajitas and a fajita quesadilla. Everything had a great flavor, was freshly made and the prices were fair. Our server was a pleasure to speak with and gave us plenty of time to mull over the menu. The only “fuss” we have is that there was an odd smell (old dish water??) when we walked in and the fajitas were tough, but only due to the fact they were cut incorrectly, making them “stringy”. Oh, and my husband would have liked a couple of more tortillas to go with his fajitas. Other than that, we enjoyed ourselves and had a great experience. We will be back for sure!“

“I'm not much on barbacoa, but I think I just find a place that convinced me other wise. It wasn't greasy like barbacoa I have had in the past. It had great taste and to top it off, the awesome the fresh tortillas!!!
I don't live in Denton, I was visiting my kids here and I wanted some good ol' Mexican food. I'm hooked“

“I literally love it here. If I could give 10, I would. The manager went over and beyond to make sure everyone in the restaurant was served and happy. Smile on his face the entire time, creating a happy environment for the clients and a pleasant work environment for the staff.“
“Imagine chipotle, but better, cheaper, and more fantastic. The meat is very good. Especially the habanero lime steak (I think it’s limited) but it’s very very good. Anytime I get a bowl I always leave full and satisfied. I paid a decent price, for a great meal. They aren’t shy on your portions either, you can also easily get double, or even triple steak, without it quadrupling the cost.“

“Everything about this place is amazing (food is very good and all homemade) except the atmosphere. It’s very clunky and choppy and not somewhere I would want to go for a nice evening out, more like a grab some good food spot. They need to work on the lighting, drinks, and music and it would be a great spot: my suggestion is to take a picture of your seating and walls and take it into AI and ask it what you can do to improve the ambiance. There are a lot of cheap ways you can improve it so people want to come there for a night out or even a date night! I hope they stick around and work to improve things so it’s more inviting!“
