Lo único decepcionante para mi es que dos veces eh ordenado Gorditas de Chicharrón Prensado y al llegar a la casa me doy cuenta que es de chicharrón duro o peya como se le conoce en Torreon. Esta última vez llame para estar segura que tenían del prensado y me dijeron que si pero no me dan el correcto. No se cual sea el problema si las de cocina o la que atiende la orden o simplemente no saben la diferencia entre uno y otro“

“I'm from out-of-state and when I arrived in town I ordered a dozen of the peas & potato enchiladas and tamales for a family gathering for the Labor Day weekend. The food was off the charts! It's the BEST authentic Mexican cuisine south of the border. Literally, I was homesick for Mexican food and La Estrella Mini Market hit the bullseye. “For our first time eating at this establishment, we were rather impressed. We happened to be the only ones there, but it was a Wednesday night and close to 830. We had the chicken tortilla soup, beef fajitas and a fajita quesadilla. Everything had a great flavor, was freshly made and the prices were fair. Our server was a pleasure to speak with and gave us plenty of time to mull over the menu. The only “fuss” we have is that there was an odd smell (old dish water??) when we walked in and the fajitas were tough, but only due to the fact they were cut incorrectly, making them “stringy”. Oh, and my husband would have liked a couple of more tortillas to go with his fajitas. Other than that, we enjoyed ourselves and had a great experience. We will be back for sure!“

“I'm not much on barbacoa, but I think I just find a place that convinced me other wise. It wasn't greasy like barbacoa I have had in the past. It had great taste and to top it off, the awesome the fresh tortillas!!!

“Imagine chipotle, but better, cheaper, and more fantastic. The meat is very good. Especially the habanero lime steak (I think it’s limited) but it’s very very good. Anytime I get a bowl I always leave full and satisfied. I paid a decent price, for a great meal. They aren’t shy on your portions either, you can also easily get double, or even triple steak, without it quadrupling the cost.“
