They have the most delicious tripe tacos but both my friend and I got food poisoned. We suspect it is the salsa bar. With Austin’s 90+ temperature, leaving fresh veggies outside is really inviting troubles.
After checking out all the taco trucks on the street, we decided to give El Chilango a try, and I'm glad we did.
This taco truck is located on the corner of a business center with outdoor seating only, giving it that authentic street-food feel. I ordered three tacos—two asada and one chicken—and they were all delicious. The meat was flavorful, well-seasoned, and served on fresh tortillas.

The food at this trailer reminded me of the food in the Rio Grand Valley. It is delicious and authentic. This restaurant is in a tough neighborhood and not very fancy. The food however is the real deal.
