This is the best chicken I’ve ever eaten. Amazing food, great price. I wish there was a way for me to regularly ship this chicken to my friends and family as they love it. Every time I go home I buy a bunch of whole chicken meals, put them in a cooler a take it to my folks. Heck, would be AMAZING if there was a location in my hometown. Thank you all for making DAMN good food.
Excellent 1/2 chicken with excellent onion, usual sides. I missed living in the neighborhood near the #2 North Lamar location. I stopped by at a slow time of day, polite staff and great food. Took to go, but the place was clean and ready for business later on in the day. Grabbed a couple neighborhood newspapers as I left.
The food was ready quickly and served attentively, with rice, beans and a portion of piquant green salsa. While I waited, an evangelist paced the parking lot with a megaphone seeking wayward souls. I ordered a mouthwatering mangonada at the food truck next door.

El Pollo Rico Express #2 offers great Mexican style charbroiled chicken, similar to El Pollo Loco but even better. Customers love the whole charcoal chicken with sides like charro beans, Spanish rice, and tortillas. The creamy avocado/tomatillo salsa is a must-try. One visitor from Houston was pleasantly surprised by the steak burrito, ranking it among the top 3 favorites. Another customer highly recommends the churros, describing them as warm, crispy, and filled with sweet cream. The half chicken meal is a consistent favorite, served with rice, beans, tortillas, grilled onion, and juicy chicken. The green salsa adds a perfect level of spice.
This location is in a food truck park and provides great fast service. The chicken Laura's topped with lettuce, tomato, crema, and avocado slices is absolutely the best. Many say this is the best food truck in the plaza, with everything on the menu tasting incredible and always fresh. The tacos are some of the best, with perfect ingredient portions and perfectly cooked meat. Friendly staff makes every visit enjoyable.
