Normally, I am disappointed when I visit here, but, this time I got a decent burger and tater tots. The Big Hat with Cheddar was hot when I got home with it, as were the Tater Tots, as they both should be, since I live 2-3 minutes away. From a value perspective, it's a poor value at $13.52. That's a lot of money for a burger, tots and a drink
My first time at a Hat Creek and without question... the BEST burger I have had since moving to Austin. I drive past this at least once a week and have always wondered what the food was like. Since moving, I haven't been overly impressed with some of the local burger chains. It was early morning and I wasn't aware they also serve breakfast but fortunately, they said they could go ahead and cook me a burger that time of day. My favorite burger and sauce. I love the burgers here because they remind me of the old school 50'd diner type burgers. They are made fresh and are delicious. The Fry-Sauce is also my favorite sauce by far from any place and that just makes the burger taste that much better. I love that they have a play area for kids so that you can actually enjoy your meal when going here with the little ones. Can't go wrong with hatcreek.
