“Go here. If you go anywhere to eat in DFW area, let it be this place. The first true farm to table restaurant that puts its heart and soul into everything they make. We were blown away by every cocktail and dish we had, but the star of the show was the Tea Braised Pig Tails (pictured below). As a farmer and a butcher, I have no idea where they source these magical, massive pig tails, but they are 100% the best tasting thing I've put in my mouth in Dallas since we came. In all my (16 total) years in bars and restaurants, I've never been more impressed by a single bartender. This guy is lacto fermenting, dehydrating, infusing, & manipulating different ingredients in incredible ways that deserve as much credit as the kitchen. Honestly, the combination of a passionate chef and a passionate bartender make this place hands down the best spot in DFW. I wish more places were ethically sourcing ingredients and using more of the animals they serve, as this place has so perfectly achieved. If they were closer, I'd probably be trying to do business with them in some manner.“

“I was so mad I had to take one star off but know that I will be returning. I live in Frisco and travel to Mesquite every two months or so and yesterday I so happened to find this spot. The greeting and service was amazing, I mean top notch. Let me start by saying that the young lady whom helped me was very nice and honest so I appreciate that and she even gave suggestions being my first time. I ended up getting the jerk chicken quesadilla which was so good I almost bite my finger off. I also got a medium bizzy body daiquiri with an extra shot which was a hit. I took one star off due to the chicken. I ordered lemon pepper wings and again the lady was honest but those things should not have been sold. They were very small so extra was given so that wasn’t the problem, the problem was the flavor of the wings were very gamely and tasted nothing like chicken. I tried a piece of one and ended up throwing them in the trash.“

We obviously weren't one of his tables but he said he had us no worries. And he didn't disappoint either. A clean classic mid-century diner vibe, it was spotlessly clean, the service was fast and efficient, the food was great, and the prices were reasonable. “Garland Cafe will always have a special place in my heart! So many memories there with my mother who is no longer with us, we have always loved meeting up at Garland Cafe and getting a quick bite to eat. I love their catfish and so many other items there on the menu it's so hard to choose sometimes because it's that good! Definitely recommend you trying Garland Cafe!

“We went to Cracker Barrel in Mesquite, TX. yesterday and the service was good but the food was not, the mash potatoes were not hot only warm and the fried chicken taste like it came out of a TV dinner. the ladies rest room was nasty and had no toilet paper, I told two different people at two different times and it was still that way a hour later! I would not recommend this location!“
