“Escalante's is a good place to dine in and have a good time either alone or accompanied with friends, specially during happy hour, since they have nice options in their bar bites for guest to try, specially if you're a person who doesn't eat that much, and still wanna have a bite of several dishes but you wouldn't eat a whole meal yourself. Margaritas are really good as well, The Mango Delite Margarita was reeeeallllyyyy good! I highly recommend it. The bartender, Mary is a very sweet and attentive person, always smiley and willing to take care of their guests. You won't get disappointed if you go there! Managers are also very caring and look after their guests!“

“Classic Tex Mex spot with Super-Ritas (2-3 you’ll be feeling it), great fajita meat, and delicious homemade tortillas and salsas.

Wait can be tough during peak hours. Surprisingly we were able to get in at 515 with 11 adults/kids on a Thursday.

They put us in the back almost by ourselves, which was nice to let the kids run around and only bother other families.

Service was solid and timely. Went for lunch recently as well and had a good experience. Would def go again

“I’ve never been there, but I remember that an idiot named Jason Vicknair talked crazy about this place. Something about his poor little starving wife not getting shredded cheese quickly enough during covid. That guy was a complete tool (probably still is), so I want to do my part to increase ratings. If I’m ever in the Dallas area, I promise to stop by. He had a phony complaint about it being his first date night in months, which was disproved quickly. People found his review history and it was littered with complaints. Basically the dude is a male Karen that deserves ridicule for the rest of his life for being a tool.“

“Tried a new restaurant in the neighborhood and was very pleasantly impressed. First, manager Ana is the best! She cares about her customers and her food. Queso is great consistency and the addition of fresh cilantro is a nice addition. Chips are crispy. Excellent fajitas from the outer skirt steak. Very tender and the outer skirt is very important to get that. Tortillas are house made and great. Generous portions. Ordered fajitas and I’ve got leftovers for tomorrow. I’ll dine there again!“

“You have to try the tamales at Johnnys! I am a die hard tamale lover and the tamales were delicious. My recommendation would be the tamales (obviously), fish tacos, tres leches, churros, and chips & salsa! Our waiter was incredible! He was very welcoming, attentive, and polite. Service is extremely important and depending on your waiter and restaurant, it can be hit or miss. However, that was not the case during our visit. Hospitality was prioritized which was evident after meeting both manager and owner. Great experience!“

My wife and I visited your Lamar Street location on December 26th, and I wanted to take a moment to share how truly extraordinary our experience was, thanks to your incredible staff. We had arrived at your restaurant after a frustrating experience earlier in the day. We had been scammed out of tickets for the 3:00 showing of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and while my wife was trying to resolve the issue with Ticketmaster, I thought we could at least enjoy a drink and try to make the best of it. My wife had been really excited for the performance, so needless to say, she was disappointed. What followed, however, turned what could have been a discouraging evening into something unforgettable. Our server, Carlos, came over and informed us that his manager had overheard our situation and wanted to offer us a free appetizer. We were so touched by this generous gesture. As the night continued, my wife was still on the phone trying to resolve the issue, and at that point, Kayla, another member of your team, came over and offered us a free dinner. Again, we were so grateful, and the kindness shown by your staff really started to lift our spirits. But the incredible service didn’t stop there. Later on, Kayla asked if we had any plans for the evening, and when we mentioned that we were heading home due to the day’s frustrations, she smiled and said, “Okay, so you have no plans. Good to know.” We had no idea what was coming next. Jon, your General Manager, then came over to our table with some astonishing news. I have always been impressed with their service, after maybe 40 visits over the years and several locations, I have never had anything but great service even when they're extremely busy. I try not to give it any importance. I recommend the Fajitas, its really good, and hearing the protein on the grill on the table is amazing and pleasant!!“

We sat outside and while we enjoyed our experience there we didn't feel we could sit at one of the tables as there were 2 women with their 3 or 4 children who were rambunctiously playing on the floor between the tables. I felt that their behavior, inattentiveness to their children and disregard for the dining experience or others around them was totally unacceptable. It's a restaurant, not a playground. Teach your children to behave appropriately and have respect for others around you.

“So this is an interesting concept. More focused toward take out and catering, we chose to dine in. The fajitas were very good, though I do feel slightly small portion of meat. The handmade corn tortillas were amazing and totally made up for smaller meat portion than I’m used to. The tortilla was fluffy, warm, and perfect. The charro beans were also a wow factor for me as well as the rice. Don’t get me started on the flautas. Everything we had was so good. I almost forgot the salsa had a great kick, and there was this creamy sauce that reminded me of lava sauce. Try this place I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.“
