“PERFECT Q!Don’t personally read magazine lists for “top” pits, preferring to drive small towns to find and try ‘em ourselves…and have been to dozens. Old 300 is hard to beat!On the Blanco square, really friendly folks, fun Texana decor, cold beer. But the food is the story … moist brisket with wonderful spicy char; perfect char on tender pull apart, not crumble apart pork ribs; jalapeño sausage had great spice and no grease; beans have excellent sweetish spice without being too salty; cole slaw crunchy and fresh but not creamy; beer cold (oh, already said that).Be advised…this is a real BBQ joint where meat is ordered by the pound (or fraction). Don’t hold up the line of hungry folks looking for a two-meat plate.Really can’t find ANYthing negative to mention. 6-??!Definitely stop!!!“
