“From email communication to our wedding day, this place never drops the ball. I never felt shamed for things I wasn’t aware of as a bride and they were so courteous when I asked questions. I wish I still lived in Austin so I could get more decadent cakes from them.

We asked for a 4 tier cake with an unfinished edge style. I also had a budget. Not a problem for Cakes Rock! They immediately got to work keeping my budget in mind and getting as close to my vision as possible. In the end, their recommendation of having a 3 tier and a separate cutting tier worked perfectly.

Each tier was a different flavor. My guests raved about the cake on our wedding day and they still do almost a year later. Get your cake here for an unforgettable experience and a creative celebration!“

“I was wanting mini conchas and pan dulce at my wedding and Abuelita's provided them in the perfect size! I also requested that they not be individually wrapped so our guests were able to grab multiple upon serving themselves. They were able to meet my requests with no issues! Not only was the size perfect but everything tasted so fresh and delicious. We had some left over after the wedding and after heating them up a tad bit in the microwave, they still tasted delicious! Highly recommend, especially if you're looking for some pan dulce for an event!“

“Everything was great except that they overcharged me. What should have been around 28 bucks (2 small pies and 2 dessert bars) ended up being 39. On the way out, I questioned the cost of the small pies because after thinking about it, it seemed high. I told her that she had overcharged me. Their were 2 girls helping me, one ringing me up, and one gather what I was picking. I had not opted for a receipt, but she was able to pull it up with my info. They were not itemized charges, and she said she didn't remember what I had been rung up for. It was my fault for not realizing when I was initially charged, but I say this so that others can make sure they are being charged correctly and not wait like I did to say something. She didn't even ask the other girl if she remembered or anything. She kinda just left it at there's nothing I can do kinda thing.“

“Stop sleeping on Mornin’ Donut! This place is a hidden gem, and it is absolutely delightful. I was craving a breakfast croissant sandwich, so I called beforehand to double check if they still had any since it was already 11am. The worker answered and said yes they had them and to come on in! I went in and got a couple of donuts, a dozen donut holes, and a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. The bags literally say “love at first bite,” and I can confirm that it was exactly that. The moment I ate my first donut hole, I was in love. It was so fresh, and it had the perfect amount of sweetness. Not to mention, the breakfast croissant was also SO GOOD. I don’t even like bacon that much, but it was amazing. Next time I’ll go earlier to try the ham breakfast croissant since they were out when I got there. Also, you can’t beat the prices! Super affordable, and the staff is friendly and welcoming which made the experience even better. Can’t wait to go back!“

“I am obsessed with the quality and consistency of dough in each cookie. I’ve become spoiled by these cookies and now, I promise that NO OTHER COOKIE CAN EVER COMPARE. Seriously so delicious and with the weekly changing menu there is always something new and delicious. My boyfriend and I check the new menu each Monday and grab something to cheer up our Mondays as we head into work, then splurge on a box of 6 for the weekend. Yes I am gaining weight, no I don’t need help lol.“

“Very pleasant experience tonight, we got (seemingly) everything on the menu and it was all really good. The food quality seems to be in a rocking spot relative to some experiences we had a couple years back after they relocated to Belterra.

“A staple of Austin Tex-Mex since I could remember. Over the years eating at this location the food still taste the same. It is bit on the heavy side but my choices now tend to be a healthier menu selection. I always enjoy the chips and salsa especially the green sauce. We arrived to walk to the bar area where I found a table. The bartender came by and ordered a frozen margarita. Looking back now I really cherish of leaving the home and experience being pampered with service where I can just sit and relax and enjoy snacking on chips. I decided on crispy chicken tacos which had a rich full flavor. The bartender was friendly. We always get quicker service here versus in the dining room. This place gets pretty busy at lunchtime where we arrive early and when we left there was already a wait. We had another great experience and counting the days where we can go back inside to enjoy another meal.“

“Pan Dulce made from scratch. Central Mexico food. Fresh pan blanco (bolillos). Simple ingredients, good tasting food. Very legit. If it says it is hot or spicy, they mean it. Best Tres Leches cake outside Mexico. I don't like strawberries, so I'm glad they make the peach and other versions. Aguas frescas are great. Can't say anything bad about the food. Place is a little dark (both locations) and starting to look worn down, but the quality of the food has never altered. They should have a page explaining the Pan Dulce or baked goods. Like Pan de Muertos, Rosca de Reyes, or different Empnadas, etc.“

“I like an Ice Latte with 1/3 moon milk. They pre-mix caramel and vanilla into some of their milk. If you get the full moon it's a sugar bomb. 1/3 moon milk means the other 2/3 is just regular milk and I think that's about perfect. The espresso is good on its own with out the sugar if you're a purist.“
