“I ate at Kerbey Lane Cafe for the first time today. I had the California omelet with a biscuit and potatoes and a cappuccino. I had the sauce on the side of the California omelet, because I wasn't sure how spicy it would be. The sauce was not too spicy and it was delicious, but I'm still glad I got it on the side, because I don't like a ton of sauce on my eggs. The black olives on the omelet are a great touch. The biscuit was perfectly baked - soft and flaky with just the right amount of outer crisp. The potatoes were well seasoned and crispy. And the cappuccino was well made. I sat at the counter and it was clean and the service was great. I will be back again.

“I love this model for an eatery/grocery. It reminds me of Billie’s Grocery, a place we enjoy in KC. It was perfect for a low key lunch while also providing some great snacks and drinks to load up on to get us through the rest of our day. Great selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks plus so many snack and food options. They’ve really got you covered!

The sandwich was DELICIOUS. I went with the veggie grilled cheese and it was cooked beautifully and so flavorful. Definitely hit the spot.

“For my first visit, last week I ordered 2 take out sandwiches. The Vietnamese sandwich and the beef sandwich. Both sandwiches were served on the softest freshest bread with delicious meats and wonderful veggies! Some of the veggies were pickled and so very tasty! Service was polite and attentive. It was a full house on Friday but I didn't have to wait long for my order. I look forward to trying more menu items.“

Johanna was our waitress and she was so beautiful & lovely to speak with! The owners, Peggy & Paul, were gracious & felt like family. “Living in the Panhandle of Texas, finding a good TexCzech kolache is next to impossible. I don't mean klobasniky (sausage roll), they are everywhere. If you find yourself in San Antonio, however, may I recommend to you the Kolache Stop, east of I-10 on Huebner. Great selection of delicious–and authentic–kolaches in a welcoming and comfortable establishment. We were greeted kindly and given not only what we came in wanting, but also some excellent suggestions that we were glad to take. Kolache Stop makes kolaches with standard poppy seed, cream cheese, and fruit fillings (my favorite is the apricot!) as well as fruit and cream cheese and (my wife's favorite) nutella and cream cheese. Every variety we tried was delicious. In addition, they make breakfast and dinner kolaches that are worth your trip in. The egg, bacon, and cheese I had was well seasoned and fit the bill for a quick breakfast before we hit the road back to the West Texas plains. And, if you want klobasniky, they've got them, too. 😄 Bottom line, head to the kolache stop and get your kolache cravings filled.“

Usually most of the patrons are working, so it's a good environment to get things done. This place is exceedingly welcoming. It's not that often I see a visible representation of diversity in San Antonio, and you can find folks from all walks of life enjoying Halcyon. I can't recommend this place enough.“
