“Restaurant was really nice and clean and staff was super friendly! Flavors were delicious, but we found many of the items to be exceptionally salty. Everything else was so great that we'll definitely give it another try...maybe someone just had a heavy hand with the salt today!“

“We came for brunch after staying a night at hotel Havana! We love how beautiful the indoor conservatory area is - so cute and service was great! We tried the pan de plátano (banana bread) - delicious!!! We loved it so much both loaves were finished no problem! I got the Cuban hash and my husband got the chilaquiles with eggs added and we shared both entrees! We loved the mix of both and would get everything again!“

“We’ve been twice and both times we got the best coffee we’ve ever had! We’re here for work, and wanted to try local. The family who runs it is so sweet. I’ve recommended the cold brew and banana nut muffins to everyone I’ve seen!“

“Arrive early to get a table, it fills up quick. Coffee refill on point. I ordered the carne guisada taco, crispy chicharron with egg and a chorizo and bean taco. Amazing flavor and portions. The corn tortillas are handmade and taste amazing! Watch out for their salsa ranchera, super hot!“

“Absolutely phenomenal food!! I was starting to give up on dining out. Each place we have been to has left extremely disappointed but NOT THIS PLACE. Our food had so much flavor. Black beans, delicious! Tamales, delicious. Ceviche tostada, delicious. Carne asada, delicious. Shredded crispy chicken tacos, delicious! The quality was noticeably better then other restaurants serving the same food. Atmosphere had an upscale but comfortable feel. Very clean tables and booths. No sticky floors. Staff was impeccable, welcome from the moment we walked inside. They were all kind, and courteous. We will definitely return and recommend to others.“

“My beloved and myself found ourselves out on a Sunday afternoon. She had had a sandwich at some fast food place and i had settled for something to drink. She had found out about Panjaz via Facebook and since i grew up in Panama, felt we should check it out. Thus we found ourselves at The Zone building by Morgan's Wonderland and Toyota Field (Heroes Stadium). Passing by the Chevron counter, tucked into the back was Panjaz! The menu placed on the wall behind the counter promised a cornucopia of gustatory delights. South Texas Summer - 100+degree heat. Ah! Ceviche de Pescado. That's the Ticket! But alas my hopes were dashed as they were sold out. But there is always a plan B. In this case Bacalao Sancochado on a bed of Panamanian style rice and with a side Potato Salad. plus the elusive Empanadas! The portion size was generous. The Bacalao was classically salty with the veggies done blending well with the taste. The rice and guandu supporting the fish and mitigating the salt, blending this dish into a savory whole. An unexpected feast in the swelter of South Texas Mid-Summer. The owner Shaunda Hopkins Lohse is genial and has a touch in the kitchen that is a marvel to behold. She has a winning personality and a joy that is contageous (and a Colonense to boot!). The bias is more towards the Colon Atlantic side with that flavor swagger that marries Caribbean to the Isthmus and the melding of tastes and cultures that is Panama. In short it tasted of home and memories of days gone by. I shall return.“

“Literally farm to table! Soooooo fresh, green, and flavorful. It was a gorgeous day, so my friend and I sat outside on their beautifully decorated patio. Lots of umbrellas for shade and pretty succulent arrangements throughout. Server was friendly and attentive. My friend ordered the salmon collard taco wraps with beans $20, and I ordered off the brunch menu- sweet potato hash with an added fried egg $15. Food came out quick, beautiful presentation. My hash was yummy- diced sweet potatoes, finely chopped fresh beets and kale, and topped with two sauces. I took my sunny side up egg, placed it on top of my hash and let the yolk ooze over the hash - sooo good. The salmon collard wraps were simply colorful art. Loads of fresh greens- guacamole, and collards used to replicate as a taco shell and roll up the salmon. Appetites were satisfied and we didn't feel overly full. I would definitely come back again!“

“The food at this place was amazing totally different from any food. I’ve tried here in San Antonio. Their tacos are so delicious and taste so different from traditional street tacos that you would taste in California and San Antonio. I would definitely come back here very unique tasting food I highly recommend this place.“
