“My wife and I have visited 3 times. I usually don't order gumbo in CC, because no retaurants make it correctly. However, after living here for 10 yrs, I can finally say I ate some real gumbo at a CC restaurant. All 3 visits have been superb!“

“If you’re a fan of hush puppies! Catfish Charlie’s has the best in town! Oh and the catfish is delicious too! But you also have to have their in house made gumbo! It’s to die for! They don’t have a bad dish on the menu! Try them once, and I promise you’ll be back again!“

“When you’re in Corpus and need that tangy Texan BBQ….ribs, potato salad and sweet tea were second to none. I ordered brisket too but save that for Austin. The service was top notch - I’m never disappointed in a BBQ joint. As for the atmosphere, when I think Texas BBQ, this is the scene. Bankers, construction workers, the DA and school teachers all dropped in for their afternoon vitals.“

“Clean friendly as soon as walking in was greeted and professional taken care of. Out waiter was so on point never rushed but was right there when needed the food fresh and flavorful from the appetizers to dessert and the price so worth it party of 6 under $150

“Portis Kountry Kitchen is hands-down one of the best spots for true Southern comfort food. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and fried to golden perfection—crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The meatloaf was absolutely amazing—tender, flavorful, and smothered in just the right amount of sauce. Every bite felt like it was made with love. If you’re looking for a place that feels like home cooking, this is it. I’ll definitely be coming back!“
