The food, as expected, was exceptional. The highlight, however, was the outstanding service we received from our server, Forrest. He saw to our every need without being overbearing. For a person who wears hearing aids, the restaurant was very loud. There are a lot of hard surfaces which I'm sure contributes to this problem.
Another fantastic dinner at Al's, this time for my mom's 80th birthday. A special shout-out to Miguel, whose attention to detail made the evening feel extra special for her. We always feel so well taken care of at Al's, and this dinner was no exception.
La comida excelente. Los calamares y el Fielete, súper recomendados. El ambiente estaba muy obscuro y ruidoso.

Based on the reviews, Al Biernat's Oak Lawn is a very nice restaurant and a great pick for special occasions in uptown Dallas. The service is top tier and personable, making guests feel like the most important people in the restaurant. The hospitality is described as service in the form of a performing art, and the ultimate form of luxury is a human being who genuinely cares about the experience. The food is outstanding, with steak as good as any, and the menu is deep and diverse. Guests enjoyed a delicious lunch with a very yummy dessert, and the filet cap (spinalis) was a perfect recommendation. The atmosphere is upscale but still laid back and relaxing. The staff is very welcoming, and servers are on top of everything without hovering. The manager went out of his way to create a special menu for a wedding celebration. Menu prices are on the upscale side, but the quality and presentation of the food reflect that. It is a perfect place for a wonderful date night or a fabulous dinner, and guests definitely made the right choice coming here.
