“We walked in to pick up a to go order and were warmly greeted. The server was kind to share some of the restaurant history and asked for a review, which as business owners, we like to oblige and want to help other businesses. He threw in a mango lassi with our order, which was not expected and SO delicious. All of our food was AMAZING and enough to have for lunch the next day. We ordered garlic naan, Gobi 65, Malabar with beef and veggies, chicken and lamb biryani.“

“Drove all night and was starving, and found this place was open late. We arrived late not knowing when the kitchen was shutting down.

The waitress politely told us we could only order fried food. It was a bummer but we understood and was going to quickly put in our order for what food we could get.

While we were looking at the menu our waitress came back and said if we ordered now he would make whatever we wanted from the menu. We immediately got excited and placed our orders for burgers.

Thank you so much to the cooks who were gracious enough to feed some starving travelers!!

All of the food was delicious and completely hit the spot, and the bartender made a fantastic liquid marijuana.

The wings were average. Normal bar wings, not anything special, overpriced a few dollars.
The po'boy however was an absolute delight. Crisp, fresh, well seasoned and slathered.

“We had an amazing experience, the food was excellent, our waitress Addy did not only meet out expectations she exceeded them! Especially, how attentive she was, caring, and wanting to understand exactly our desires. She definitely made our experience wonderful.

The atmosphere is cozynyet inviting you to sit down and stay for a while. When dinning in, there isn't any pressure to hurry or leave. In fact, the staff seem to encourage you to take your time!

“We just had the most wonderful experience at Hillside Tavern. The food was phenomenal and the atmosphere was chill enough that we were able to bring our 11-year-old niece to eat with us. “Good neighborhood hole in the wall. DJ Playing all kinds of music. Live Tejano/Spanish type music on Saturdays. Very casual dress code. Bring your own liquor bottle as they only serve beer and set ups. Need about 1 or 2 more restrooms. Front patio. Clientele is more of the blue collar type of people. Not to bad of a place. Hardly ever any drama there since the crowd is mostly 35 and up.“

“They closed down and revamped the interior a little. What is awesome is the food is still great! They added a few items on the menu. The consistency of good service is a 4 out of 5. Although I mainly order to-go. My favorites are the: Avocado Chicken Quesadilla, Chicken Fried Steak, Pasta Verde with grilled chicken and California wrap. Stir-fried octopus with chicken feet and egg rolls are the most delicious I've ever had in my life.

I’m crazy about green onion pancakes. I’ve never had seafood and green onion pancakes this crispy haha.

The seafood stew was delicious, and the Gunyang Dal beer was all really delicious ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

I drink so much Dal Beer haha. Please open a branch in LA.“

“My husband was here for an armwrestling event and when the transactions didn’t match up with what he authorized I gave them a call. The manager and woman who looked into this were great but the waitress that added her own gratuity to a less than 30$ single person check should be ashamed of herself. Unfortunately I’ve come to hear this from others about people tipping themselves so just a fair warning to check your bill before paying for anything.“
