“Plano just got elevated to legendary status thanks to a night at Plano Sports Tavern. I went in expecting a decent sports bar and walked out convinced I had stumbled into the beating heart of the local music universe.
First, the food. This is not your average “bar food.” Everything coming out of the kitchen looked like it belonged in a highlight reel—hot, fresh, and dangerously addictive. The kind of food where you say you’ll just have a few bites and suddenly the plate is empty and you’re contemplating a second round.
Then there’s the atmosphere. The place has that perfect mix of laid-back neighborhood hangout and electric live-music energy. Friendly staff, great crowd, plenty of TVs if you’re there for the game, but the real magic happens when the stage lights come on.
And speaking of magic… seeing Vinyl Tone here was an absolute experience. They sounded incredible, the crowd was into it, and the whole place felt like one giant party where everyone was in on the same secret: this is where you come for a great night out.

“First time checking out The Tipsy Chicken on a Thursday and had a great time. Sophie and Amber were fantastic behind the bar — friendly, quick, and easy to talk to. Ryan and John were great company too, fun to swap stories with and hear about the local scene. Shoutout to the KJ for starting my night off right — after my first song he sent me over for a free shot, which Amber poured up. Little touches like that really make a place memorable. As someone who’s been in the DJ/KJ world for years, I’ve seen slow nights turn into packed houses with just a few creative twists: • “First-time singer” spotlights to get shy guests up. • Small bar tab or drink ticket for the crowd favorite performance. • Short themed rounds (“90’s throwbacks,” “duet challenge”) to keep things fresh. The Tipsy Chicken has an awesome base of people and staff — it wouldn’t take much to make Thursdays one of the busiest nights in town. I’ll definitely be back. “Tried this place for karaoke night. There was no pressure to participate, had the normal range of great to ok participants. Seemed pretty standard for a bar, appetizers were good, it was a shock that soft drinks didn't have free refills, the wait staff was friendly but largely hard to find. There were 5 people in our group and we stayed for about 5 hours.“

“My husband and I along with our daughter and son in law went to dinner here last night. The service was excellent. The one thing I would have to say that is a negative for this place it's that they ask you if you have allergies but they were not equipped for the allergy that was given. My husband is allergic to shellfish so they had to come out twice to tell him the shrimp is cooked in the same fryer as the chips and chicken and the batter used for the chicken is also the same used on the shrimp as well so if you have shellfish allergies be careful coming here. I think this is a first restaurant we have been too that does not use separate fryers. With that being said my husband was limited to what he could eat and we did not see something of a warning on menu or online. This was also our first time here. I ordered the Chimichurri Steak Frites which was good but the steak did have a fishy taste at first which they might also cook the fish and steak on same place. Other than that the atmosphere was good service was good and food was good that's why I rated it a 4 star. If we go back it might be just for drinks“

“This is one of my go-to places in the area. The main reason I always return - ORLANDO. He is one of the OG staff that makes me want to go back. Not sure what you want to drink that night? Ask Orlando. Long day and need to smile? Ask Orlando. Starving and everything looks good? Ask Orlando. Yes, the food is good Yes, the drinks are good (my fave is the Purple Duck). “Gecko is like a second home! It’s so fun to be able to walk in and know so many people. The food is always a hit and delicious. The drinks are always perfect and the staff is as friendly as it gets. I definitely recommend the pizza, the Turkey melt and the brunch chimichanga. Out of this world!! If you are there for happy hour the pretzel bites with queso always hit the snack spot. Gecko is fantastic for sports watching too! Football, Olympics and especially soccer!! Go give them a try…you won’t be disappointed and I bet you make some new friends!!“

“First time here. Recommended by a friend so we met for drinks at the bar. Large bar with plenty of seating. It quickly became obvious that there were lots of regulars.
Service - Very good service for the one bartender that was taking care of the bar and tables alike. One legged woman in an ass kicking contest, but she was very friendly, very quick, and very efficient. Good personality and knew many customers by name.
Food - Did not eat this time, but my friend said that the grilled oysters are outstanding. From the dishes that I saw, portions looked large.
Atmosphere - Got really loud a couple of times, but understandable since we were in the bar. Standard bar scene with plenty of TVs and some games. Was able to watch some World Cup while we were catching up.
Overall - Nice dive bar with a lot to offer. Plenty of beers on tap and a full service bar. It is a smoking establishment, but has good ventilation. Will definitely be back to try the oysters and hang at the bar.“

My faves are the chicken fried chicken, lasagna and catfish. When I'm in a healthy mood I hit the salad bar! They even have ice cream.“

We were disappointed at first, then our usual waiter came along. He made the difference: bring us the usual dish, taking care of our requests quickly... We still love this place!“

“When we went we were the only ones dining there so we didn't have to wait for a table. Our food server Rogelio was very professional and courteous. Food prices were very reasonable and they have a pretty good variety of items on their menu. I just had a basic hamburger and it was well prepared and very tasty. My dinner companion had the grilled salmon with steam vegetables and mashed potatoes, and she liked it as well. Overall it's a nice little restaurant in the lobby of the hotel.“
