“Mot Hai Ba is a gem in Dallas. This small, unassuming eatery absolutely delivers big on flavor and experience. The duck is phenomenal—perfectly cooked, rich, and deeply satisfying. And the garlic noodles? Easily some of the best I’ve had anywhere: savory, aromatic, and impossible to stop eating.

What really stands out is how this place captures the spirit and flavors of Asian-rim cuisine in a way you rarely find in an inland U.S. city. Every dish feels thoughtful and dialed-in. You can taste the care.

“Service and presentation were good. The food, however, seemed to be made to be more friendly to non-Vietnamese eaters.

The meat and dipping sauce in their version of Bun cha Hanoi were salty compared to what you would have in Hanoi. Vietnamese food, especially in Hanoi, is known for its lightness so that some would find it tasteless without modification.

Their Bun Bo Hue had too much of lemongrass flavor, maybe to mask the shrimp paste that would be repugnant to the uninitiated.

I would recommend this restaurant as an entry to Vietnamese cuisine.“

“Green curry with tofu was delicious and deliciously spicy at medium. Light on the veggies (like bells and bamboo, and would have loved green beans) but heavy on peas & carrot combo. Cooked prefectly, especially the tofu.

Pineapple fried rice with pork was also a hit - mixed with cashews, peas, carrots, raisins, and (of course) pineapple. Again: perfectly prepared!“

“I am so glad I found this place! It is right around the corner from my mom's house so I now make it a point to get dinner from there when I visit Dallas. They have never made a mistake on my orders, and the food is so good!! The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. Don't go here for the ambience or you'll probably be disappointed, but if you want super yummy Thai food & pleasant staff, you'll be more than satisfied.“

“We try to come here a couple times every month, the owners are so friendly and the sushi is always fresh. They always have gentle and upbeat music playing, and the sushi bar is very cool and creates a nice ambiance. We always grab 4-5 rolls, a spicy edamame, and a couple orders of sake. Have been probably 20 times now, and the experience is always a 10/10.“

“Again with the home run on the Chinese food. Very good price, very good flavor, very good portions. They are quick, one of my favorite take out places in the area. A must order if you’re in the neighborhood. Very consistent in putting out good chinsese food. Very inexpensive and the food can be seen being made.
