“We loved our entire experience at Desert Door Distillery! We were welcomed immediately by friendly staff, chose a seat on their outside patio and a server immediately can over right away! We started with the flight to try three sotols. I fully enjoyed the sotol even though tequila is not my liquor of choice. Sotol is much better! Our server Katie was so friendly and gave us great recommendations on their mixed drinks as well explained what sotol is all about. Fun bonus, there was an oyster food truck. So delicious! There was also a taco food truck but didn’t try that. Per Katie’s recommendation, we tried their rotating desert door frozen. It was coconut pineapple flavored and so perfect on this hot day. I wish I lived in Texas so I could come back more! But if we come back to Austin this will not be missed!“

The variety of wines was impressive, with excellent flavors across the board, and what really made it shine were our two hosts, Jake and Carter. They went above and beyond -- generous pours, so thoughtful and sweet, and they made the whole experience feel personal, fun, and easy. None of that stiff, snobby wine vibe here, just genuine hospitality and good times.

And as if that wasn’t enough, we even stumbled into a surprise crew of Porsches outside -- 25 Porches on their way to a show in this picturesque scene. Great wine, great people, beautiful setting -- honestly doesn’t get better than that. Huge thanks to Jake and Carter for making it unforgettable. “I saw The Shore on my Google map and clicked on the link. I saw their Happy Hour Menu and noticed they had 1/2 price Oysters and several other choices. We decided to stop there on our way back home. We got there at 3:30 and found that they would not open until 4 pm due to an earlier water leak. We asked if we could just sit at the bar until they opened because we really wanted to have oysters for our anniversary. The manager said since we were wanting oysters we could sit at the bar and get drinks and the oysters. Chef Cody explained all the different oysters offered and we decided to let him choose the oysters and we were not disappointed . He chose the gulf coast, summer time, Black moon and pink moon. All the options were fresh tasting with just a touch of saltiness . We also had the mussels with fries. We have not had mussels this good in a very long time. the broth was thick with butter, wine and capers. The grilled ciabatta bread was so buttery and crispy we ordered additional pieces. The calamari was lightly breaded rings and tentacles and were heavenly. We also tried the Hi Mexican Lager on tap, it was light and smooth. Our bartender was very sweet and helpful with our choices. We also would like to thank the manager who being so accommodating to us and making our 42nd anniversary so special. We will definitely stop there again!!!!!“

“I love Torchys, been going since they existed. This particular location has struggled but is much improved. Food has become more consistent, automated checkout up front has improved the ordering experience and cut the line down. Still room for improvement as the staff walks around almost clueless to where people are to deliver food and more mistakes than the other locations.

“Had lunch at this small restaurant (behind the Chevron gas station) for some authentic Mexican cuisine. The food was delicious and far exceeded our expectations! All of the meats (Carnitas, Barbacoa, Pastor and shredded chicken in the Chile Rellenos) were well cooked, soft & full of flavor. Our servers were happy to serve us and made our experience of their restaurant a memorable one! Had a warm crispy churro for dessert. Will have to go back for more ?“

“1st time we have been since it became Chills. We liked it! The front staff wasn't all that friendly, but our waitress was great. Food was good, and quick. My son had the best tine on the new play area they put in. sad to see that the creek looks as dirty as it does. I remember taking my adult kids here when they were little and it was so beautiful.“
