“Food was good. Server was terrible, when asked questions about menu and when she brought wrong order. Spoke with server about poor service and requested company contact, She declined and informed me that it wouldn’t do any good, because she was quitting. I frequently travel to the area and will have to find another Italian restaurant with employees wanting to work there and serve.“

The French Toast at Mae Dunne Kitchen & Goods had me hyped. They use brioche, a bread known for its richness and potential for thick slices, but the final product was just above average.

While the toast itself was good, it fell short of expectations, especially considering the price. Like many places, the it was thinly sliced, which felt like a missed opportunity. Imagine a fluffy, three-bite stack – that's what I was hoping for.

On the bright side, the bacon was delicious, and the fruit was decent, though a touch sweeter would have been nice. Presentation-wise, there's room for improvement.

Overall, Mae Dunne's French Toast is good, but not mind-blowing. If thicker brioche slices become an option in the future, I'd be back for another try.“

“Although they have had some staffing issues in recent months, the ones who show up always do such a great job under pressure. Tonight Justin was the only waitstaff, which he explained when we walked in. He ran his feet off taking care of everyone and did a great job. The cook(s?) also did a great job. I sat outside and watched several events where people were trying to go out the in, making a traffic jam. I also saw a truck back into a tree that really should not be there. Those tacos probably cost him a couple hundred dollars! DO NOT BRING A TRAILER. Saw that mess, too. The inside is clean but noisy. It's meant for quick in and out dining or takeaway. I will absolutely come back, but earlier here is definitely better. It gets hopping busy...“

When I finally made it to the right one and explained my mistake, the Hwy 151 team kindly remade my food so I wouldn’t have to eat something that had been sitting for a while — all without me even asking. This small act of kindness meant so much. I told my baby that day that when you can, offer people as much grace as possible and be kind — because you never know what someone might be going through. We went there for Thai cuisine, which we had, but the sushi rolls we saw come out looked fantastic, so we will definitely go back for sushi next time. We ordered the Thai Spring Rolls, Chicken Phat Thai, and Chicken Phat Khing, and were treated to some Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. Everything looked great and tasted delicious. The Phat Thai was as good as we have had anywhere! The servers were efficient, attentive and courteous. Prices very reasonable. The dining room was full, but not noisy. A very pleasant ambiance for a casual dinner.“

So for all the tourists looking to be seen in the fancy place dumping loads of money on overpriced and not so good food, keep going down to that place on Main in San Antonio. Otherwise to see what it feels like to be treated and fed like family, go to El Rio in Boerne. Also, don't order more than one margarita without a driver. They go down like Kool aide and are to die for. I will drive across San Antonio and pass all the other places for a plate of enchiladas in Boerne. Atmosphere is authentic and the family run feel is as real as it gets. Don't expect mariachi singers unless you bring a band. This is the real deal. So five stars isn't enough, but they get it easily.“

Serve you hand and foot which this is what I particularly love about this place as well. No server bothering me constantly, but just watching the table what needs to be taken away and what needs to be filled with drinks.

If you’re the introvert type and you don’t like huge crowd, this is definitely your spot a must you won’t feel rushed to leave, but you’ll definitely get filled fast that you can’t move.
