“Food was good. Server was terrible, when asked questions about menu and when she brought wrong order. Spoke with server about poor service and requested company contact, She declined and informed me that it wouldn’t do any good, because she was quitting. I frequently travel to the area and will have to find another Italian restaurant with employees wanting to work there and serve.“

“We love Mae Dunn’s! This was one of the first restaurants we went to when we moved into the area and we’ve been coming back weekly since! Everything is great—food, atmosphere, and a very attentive staff. Anna and her team are exceptional. Can’t say enough about this place! Highly recommend!

“Although they have had some staffing issues in recent months, the ones who show up always do such a great job under pressure. Tonight Justin was the only waitstaff, which he explained when we walked in. He ran his feet off taking care of everyone and did a great job. The cook(s?) also did a great job. We love the relaxed diner atmosphere and have always gotten good food.“

“We love this place. Everything we have ordered has been excellent and consistent. Tonight we decided to order 2 filet mignons to go. I was a bit skeptical about “to go” filets, especially since we live miles away, but that’s what I wanted so that’s what we got. Not only was the meal absolutely delicious, they wrapped everything so it was all still hot when we got home. Now I have to add yet another favorite to my list of Hungry Horse meals… thanks guys!!! “I had such a wonderful experience here today! As a very early postpartum mom running on little sleep, I accidentally placed my order at the wrong Willie’s location. When I finally made it to the right one and explained my mistake, the Hwy 151 team kindly remade my food so I wouldn’t have to eat something that had been sitting for a while — all without me even asking. This small act of kindness meant so much. I told my baby that day that when you can, offer people as much grace as possible and be kind — because you never know what someone might be going through. No music on the speakers to have to contest with, so it was nice and quiet for our group to have a casual conversation. Service was quick and attentive. Excellent selection as usual. From time of order to main course food at table was 21 minutes. Appetizer showed up in 7 minutes. The table particularly liked the Vietamese Egg rolls. Portions are nice.“

This place is awesome in every way if you know what great tex mex and fantastic service is supposed to look like. I judge by the simplest of terms in Tex Mex food as it's a simple cuisine that relies on the right combination of spices and materials to be both authentic and delicious. We have that nailed here. So for all the tourists looking to be seen in the fancy place dumping loads of money on overpriced and not so good food, keep going down to that place on Main in San Antonio. Otherwise to see what it feels like to be treated and fed like family, go to El Rio in Boerne. Also, don't order more than one margarita without a driver. They go down like Kool aide and are to die for. I will drive across San Antonio and pass all the other places for a plate of enchiladas in Boerne. Atmosphere is authentic and the family run feel is as real as it gets. Don't expect mariachi singers unless you bring a band. This is the real deal. So five stars isn't enough, but they get it easily.“

“My family loves this place. Their goat curry is truly the GOAT. Meat is tender and fall off the bone. They offer fresh naan to the table which the kids love. They have a great selection. I wanted to get a little bit of everything - and I almost did! I love that they have their buffets for dinner too. Not sure if that’s changed for other days of the week, but we were craving Indian buffet on a Sunday night and this was the only known place for dinner buffets.
