“Last night I was contemplating getting some really wonderful and delicious Chinese food and I had always wanted to try Pei Wei and the food did not disappoint at all. The flavors, textures and aroma were so good. I got it via Uber Eats. Keep up the great work.“

“Another Yelp gem! Our family was craving traditional Chinese food. Most of the places I was finding in the area were mainly Americanized Chinese food. Even this place had mainly general tsos chicken and the such in their pictures but I saw the high reviews and their menu had a different section for chefs speciality items. Those items looked more traditional even though the reviews didn’t reflect a lot of people necessarily ordering it, was worth a shot.

Upon getting seated, we noticed that yes their menu was heavily pushing the Americanized options there was a whole page dedicated to traditional options. They start your table off with fried wonton strips, like the ones you put on top of soups. My kids love this!

We ordered 4 entrees the eggplant, the beef and bok choy, the peppery pork chops, and the black pepper shrimp.

My favorite was the black pepper shrimp, they use big shrimps here and it’s not overly salty. The beef and bok Choy was loaded with beef, the eggplant stayed crispy, not mushy, and pork chops were extra crispy. Each plate was huge, and plenty for our family of 6 with leftovers.

The meal ended with complimentary red bean sesame balls, and this was the best part of the meal! My kids ate them all up.

The service was super attentive, they were constantly refilling drinks and fulfilling any requests. Truly a hidden gem in SA.“

“I’ve been coming to Kung Fu Noodle for about two years now and it NEVER disappoints! Food quality is always great and soo good. When it comes to the soup; they have two types of noodles, wide or thin and spice levels ranging from 1-5. I prefer thin and spice level 2 to leave room to make it spicier with the tasty hot oil they provide at the table. 😊“

It's unfortunate we have to go all the way to San Antonio for it BUT holy crap this is so delicious!!!!! We all agree its worth the drive for this food. Portions are huge and definitely get your money's worth. Please open a second location south of Austin 🤣

“We recently tried Chef Joe Asian Cuisine and had a mixed experience overall. We ordered shrimp fried rice, beef lo mein, chicken wings, and crispy fried chili chicken. Out of everything, the beef lo mein was definitely the best—flavorful, well-cooked, and the kids really enjoyed it. However, the rest of the dishes were just average compared to what we’ve had at other authentic Chinese restaurants.

The shrimp fried rice didn’t have much flavor, and the chicken wings were a bit plain, lacking the seasoning and crispiness you would expect. The crispy fried chili chicken was decent but not particularly memorable. While none of the food was terrible, most of it didn’t stand out or make us want to rush back for those specific dishes.

On the positive side, the restaurant itself has a pleasant environment. It’s quiet, clean, and family-friendly. The waitress who served us was very nice, attentive, and friendly, which made the dining experience more enjoyable. Pricing is also reasonable, making it a decent option if you’re looking for a casual, affordable meal.

Overall, I’d say Chef Joe’s is good for a quick bite and great service, but the food could use more authentic flavors to really shine.“

“This little gem has been my go to since they first opened. My kids growing up loved this place. They still come here too now that they are grown. My wife and I enjoy this pretty much every week! I love the fact you can call in your order and it is ready to grab and go within-10-15min. As mentioned by several other posts here the quantities are far more generous than any of the other locations I have gone to especially for the price! Great value. I love the fact you can also get the dinner special any time of day even during lunch time for a couple of bucks more and is plenty for 2 people to share. We love the cashew chicken and we have them make it spicy(they will add spice to any dish-kung pao style). We also like to add a bag of wonton chips for a buck. They go great with the soup or even by themselves and highly recommend the addition. This restaurant will continue to be our go to for tasty Chinese food.“

“We have been eating here for a couple years now and it's honestly embarrassing it took me this long to leave a review. We love their food and the service. The prices have gone up a bit, but they are now priced equally with their competitors, and the food is packed in, and it is still quite the value compared to the other restaurants we order from. There are always leftovers. We love the sesame and lemon chicken, and their lo mein noodles are the best. (I cant say i have a lot of other experiences to compare them to, but the ones I usually see are greasy and undesirable.) We moved, and unfortunately have to drive across town to come here, but when we want Chinese we still do anyway. Our son will not let us forget how much we love them. Haha. Would definitely recommend!!“

And they have this badass water garden with huge koi fish before you enter! Make sure you ask for fish food at the front counter and they will give you some it's so cool! The pho tasted so good and I had some scallops with shrimp and veggies with a side of white rice that came with it and it came to a total of 30 bucks :) they're open 6 days a week, closed on Sundays. The place is very clean and even the cook came up to our table and made sure we were taken care of without being annoying (some places check on you too often) we'd totally come back again!“

Once we got home we realized they accidentally left out the spring rolls. We called and asked for a refund but they said they were unable to credit the card back over the phone. The manager offered to make it right if we went back in. We declined since we were already home. A few minutes later, the manager calls back and asked us for our address. “I picked up lunch from Golden Wok in the Shell gas station on Eisenhower Rd & Midcrown Dr. I should have called it in but I didn’t. Ordered the sweet n sour pork and lemon chicken with steamed rice. Also ordered the chicken Lo Mein, All plates were made fresh and tasted great. Good portions as well, and those were the lunch plates, the dinner plates are bigger. They have a couple of tables to eat at but they were piled with their kitchen stock. I’d order from there again.“
