“This is the quintessential small town Cafe. Everyone inside knows each other and has been going there for years. This isn't a quick dine and dash you need to be prepared to take your time and enjoy yourself. The salad bar is average, except for one important addition, a pot of homemade pinto beans that are pure nostalgia. Today the lunch special was all you can eat fried catfish served with hush puppies, fries and cole slaw. Nothing especially special about the sides, they are pretty Cafe standard, but the fried fish is very good. It's a much lighter, golden crust than I was expecting with no hint of being soggy. My server was quick to refill my plate with a second helping and was a friendly as anyone you would ever hope to meet. An overall great experience. Small town charm that's not an act, but a genuine friendly way of life. Can't wait to come back.”
“It was a great place. Homely and foods taste delicious. We had lunch buffet here. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. If you come to Franklin drive through safari, visit this restaurant. Highly recommended.”
“My son and I both had the Cowboy Special. There is 4 pieces of bacon and sausage patties, along with scrambled eggs and 3 pancakes. We were very hungry and if you try this meal, you better be too.”
“Food is really good. Cheese enchiladas with traditional chili gravy, is the best I have had in a while! Lots of hand crafted food. Great salsa! Only gripe is, the lady that seated me acted like I made her angry, she threw my menu and silverware on the table, and she did not smile.”
“Friendly, patient, and easy going staff. The food is fresh and good quality. Location may be busy during rush hours. Small dining area but usually has open seating.”
“The staff here is SO friendly. Ready with smiles and courtesy, which is rare these days. It's a busy place, considering the location. In a rural town, off the beaten path. But, the service is still good. The food is excellent. I highly recommend this place for travelers, visitors and the nearby community of Franklin,TX. I hope to remember the name(s) of the manager and other workers at this location as I plan to be a regular patron. God Bless y'all! Oh, yeah. Don't forget to get some "Serendipity" seasoning and a cup, or gallon, of their signature sweet tea!”
“This place is very underrated and overshadowed by a larger restaurant in town. The food is always fresh and tasty. The employees are nice and helpful. Amigos is small in size but big in quality.”
“So I just wanna give a HUGE shout out to our Franklin Texas Dairy Queen tonight! With all the negative reviews they have gotten over time I wanted to give my positive experience in hopes that our community will give them a chance again. Tonight being Friday I was tired & didn't feel like cooking so I had a craving for a dude sandwich. I came to the drive-through, ordered my dude & chili cheese fries & the workers were quick to take my order as well as had polite customer service. When I got home to eat I was so satisfied with the quality, temperature & taste of my food! The dude was ON POINT! it was so hot & delicious. The bun was toasted on both sides & buttered. I was pleasantly surprised with the freshness of my food. Thanks DQ in franklin! ???”
“The best fish and chicken place this side of College Station / Bryan. Delicious, excellent service and small home town atmosphere. Highly recommended! I eat here almost every time I visit friends from Franklin. Thank you to all the staff for keeping this place going. ??”
“Winner, Winner Taco Dinner! Good food all around. Crispy taco plate, Carne Guisada plate, breakfast tacos were all really good. Salsa, guacamole, pico were good, too.”
“We were very pleased. Friendly people with smiling faces that sincerely try to make our visits very satisfactory.Vegetarian options: A lot of choices and the vegetables are fresh.”
“The food was delicious. We got the beef fajitas, and they were tender, flavorful, and crispy. The service was great as well. I ordered a beer on draft, and it ran out while they were filling it, so our waitress brought me the half glass (free of charge) and a full bottle while they refilled the draft.”
“Surprisingly good meal, with fried items being a bit overcooked for our preference. The service was quick and besides it being the middle of a Sunday afternoon, the atmosphere was pretty good. It definitely reminded me of Mel's and other like diners of the 50-60 eras.”
“i look forward to my mid week REWARD! A double meat cheese burger ...EVERY Wed i can count on this burger to be made FRESH and HOT! It is made while i wait. Might take a few min wait but for the BEST BURGER in town...waiting is worth it!”
“No worse than any other fast food business as far as the crowded times of day and being looked over in the mix but service was generally happy and helpful as well as relatively patient.”
“Lots of locals supporting our hometown. Friendly service with a smile and comfortable, fun atmosphere. Relax on your journey for great company, food and ambience. God's ”
