“From “Nope” to “Nice!” — They Really Turned This Place Around

Two years ago, my wife and I walked into this place, got hit with a sewer smell straight to the soul, turned right back around, and wrote it off forever. It was a hard nope from both of us.

But credit where it’s due — we came back a few weeks ago, and WOW… completely different experience.

The smell? Gone.
The vibe? Warm and actually welcoming.
The service? Attentive, friendly, and miles better than before.
The food? Surprisingly solid — way better than what we remembered.

It’s clear they put in real work to fix things: cleaner space, better atmosphere, and a team that actually seems happy to be there. It went from “walk in and immediately walk out” to “sit down, relax, and enjoy lunch.”

I respect a business that listens, improves, and shows it.

“Love the atmosphere, love the food, love the service. Salsa Tex is just a fast paced local Tex Mex Restaurant but the food is very good. The margaritas are excellent as well. There are waits to get a table after 6:00 but typically less than 20-30 minutes.“

Blue Goose Cantina is always solid, but the bar experience with Pedro and Carlos takes it to another level, Stasha and Roman are also good. These two bartenders are absolute legends behind the stick — super welcoming, hilarious, quick with the pours, and they make everyone feel like a regular even if it’s your first time. Big shout out to Hira for amazing service at the high tops. We brought some out of town guests and they were blown away!

Shoutout to Pedro and Carlos for keeping the vibes high, nailing every drink (those Blue Goose Ritas are dangerous in the best way), and especially for steering us toward the Blue Goose Quesadilla. That thing is insane — perfectly crispy and easily the best quesadilla. Addictive!

If you’re sitting at the bar, ask for Pedro or Carlos. If at a high top ask for Hira. They’re the reason we'll keep coming back. Blue Goose Cantina just earned a permanent spot in my rotation. Keep crushing it, fellas! 🌮🍹🤠

“Have visited this place many times and normally get a cheeseburger, and it never disappoints. The food always comes out hot, fresh, and made just the way I like it. Chili’s has a good consistency to it & you know what you’re going to get, and they deliver every time.

The service has always been solid here. The staff is friendly, quick to check in, and they make sure you have everything you need without hovering. Even on busy days, they keep things moving and still manage to be attentive. It’s clear they take pride in giving customers a good experience.

The restaurant is clean, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it’s one of those places where you can sit back, enjoy your meal, and not feel rushed. Whether it’s a quick stop or a longer sit-down, the experience is consistently good.

“Calles de México Taco Shop is a great spot with a convenient location, good prices, and generous portions. The service was friendly and efficient. I ordered the torta cubana, which was big, filling, and very tasty—and it comes with fries. I also tried the menudo; it had great flavor and a good portion. I personally would’ve liked it a bit spicier, but the handmade tortillas were a big plus. I had a horchata with my meal, and it was refreshing and delicious. Overall, great food and good value. I’d definitely come back.“

“This was my first time here as I'm from out of state. I've heard great things so I was looking forward to the experience and I wasn't disappointed. The food was amazing as it came out fast and full of flavor. At most Mexican establishments, the salsa seems to be an after thought but not here. I have to say that the salsa here is phenomenal! I could have made a meal out of that alone!

Since it was limited edition, I ordered a Watermelon Margarita and it was THE best Margarita I've had. It was flavorful, balanced, and extremely smooth. I highly recommend coming here.“

“We had another fantastic experience at the Freebirds off Main Street in Frisco, thanks in large part to the incredibly friendly staff, especially RiRi and Anthony. They were professional, helpful, and genuinely kind in a way that really stood out. This isn’t the first time we’ve had a great visit here, but it’s rare to see people take the time to share something positive online anymore. That made me feel compelled to spread the word about how consistently excellent this location is. We’ll definitely be back soon.“
