They have hosted the Marcus Varsity Baseball team for team dinners several times and given the booster club a good deal. They were a great place for parents to come after we defeated Southlake in the playoffs. Awesome Times has catered my son’s graduation party. Awesome Times consistently makes great food and delivers excellent service. My family goes there at least a couple times a month and we plan to continue.“

The food was wonderful, and our waiter Jose did an excellent job checking on us but not becoming annoying by constantly asking if we needed anything. We sat near the bar which was a tad noisy, but the booth we were seated in was uncomfortable and better suited for larger people b/c the table is too far away from the seats. And our table had an uneven wood surface as we cut into our food. Lastly, the $2.50 discount for Police/Fire/Vets should be a little more ... say 15%. Otherwise, it was an outstanding dining experience.“

“My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed brunch today to celebrate Valentine’s Day. My husband had the Texan Omelette and a biscuit on the side and I had the Southern Benny. Both dishes were outstanding. I had the jalapeño grits with my meal and they were really delicious. This was our first time to come to J. Macklin’s for brunch and I look forward to our next visit. Our server was Cameron. He knew everything we asked about the dishes, he was friendly and very attentive. We will be asking for Cameron on our next visit. Great job Cameron and J. Macklin’s!“

Looking for a new restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, my wife made a reservation at this gem in Denton and we were not disappointed. Our table was laid out with rose petals to celebrate the occasion and the staff wished us a Happy Anniversary. The menu had a multitude of items that sounded mouth-watering, so the decision making process was tortuous. We settled on bacon wrapped dates and steamed mussels as appetizers. The dates were moist and the bacon crispy, a perfect bite of sweet and salty. The mussels were perfectly steamed with a delicious broth and the perfect crispy, warm French bread to sop it up. A great start. My wife ordered Beef Cheek stuffed Ravioli, remembering how much she loved the beef cheeks we first ate in Spain. Ground meat in the ravioli topped with a perfect ragu of tomatoes, beef cheek, and vegetables. I am drawn to duck whenever I see it on the menu and the Rosemary smoked Duck Breast was cooked to perfection; crispy skin, juicy meat, and a sun dried cherry pico tart enough to complement its maple syrup glaze. The sliced duck breast was served atop a wild rice and vegetable pancake that was unique and perhaps the star of the dish. Come on, who wouldn’t love pancakes for dinner? A couple glasses of wine with dinner, a slice of award winning carrot cake for desert with an espresso, and exquisite service all evening long made for an ideal anniversary celebration. “Lunch was so yummy and the server, Kevin, was such a delight that we returned to eat dinner the same night and requested he be our server. The menu is expansive and surely anyone can find something to suit their tastes. We both had protein bowls for lunch and the filets for dinner. The protein bowls were so flavorful we didn’t feel like we were eating a healthy meal option. The waffle fries with gringo cheese dip, the macaroni and cheese side dish, and the summer salad are must tries. Everything tasted fresh and homemade including the salad dressing. Nothing was cold, stale or past its eating prime. In brief, eating at 54th Street was a culinary experience and the prices were absolutely reasonable. When in the area again we will definitely eat here again!“

“Although I usually enjoy brunch at the cafe, I was pleasantly surprised to attend the loveliest wedding reception recently. The display of foods and desserts was beautiful. The tables were arranged in two long rows decorated with gold and white place settings. The bridal couple and attendants were elegantly seated at the large booth in the front. We all had the best time.“

“I went to the Cotton Patch Café with my husband tonight and had a really good experience.
I got the chicken fried steak, and it was delicious—crispy, tender, and full of flavor. The mashed potatoes and green beans were great, and the rolls were fresh and warm.
Even though the restaurant was really busy, my server Justina still managed to take care of everything perfectly. She was super nice, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without any delays.
Overall, great food, great service, and a very comfortable atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back.“

We had no luggage and were provided with all we needed, toothpaste/toothbrush, razor/shave cream, comb, brush, hairspray. The beds were comfy for our very brief stay. Towels were fluffy, bathroom very sleek, modern. Taxi called for us when we needed it. These weary travelers are very appreciative!“
