“My quandary: give Hannah’s the rave review it deserves and risk not being able to get a table on a Saturday night or just pretend we never made it to dinner? Looking for a new restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, my wife made a reservation at this gem in Denton and we were not disappointed. Our table was laid out with rose petals to celebrate the occasion and the staff wished us a Happy Anniversary. The menu had a multitude of items that sounded mouth-watering, so the decision making process was tortuous. We settled on bacon wrapped dates and steamed mussels as appetizers. The dates were moist and the bacon crispy, a perfect bite of sweet and salty. The mussels were perfectly steamed with a delicious broth and the perfect crispy, warm French bread to sop it up. A great start. My wife ordered Beef Cheek stuffed Ravioli, remembering how much she loved the beef cheeks we first ate in Spain. Ground meat in the ravioli topped with a perfect ragu of tomatoes, beef cheek, and vegetables. I am drawn to duck whenever I see it on the menu and the Rosemary smoked Duck Breast was cooked to perfection; crispy skin, juicy meat, and a sun dried cherry pico tart enough to complement its maple syrup glaze. The sliced duck breast was served atop a wild rice and vegetable pancake that was unique and perhaps the star of the dish. Come on, who wouldn’t love pancakes for dinner? A couple glasses of wine with dinner, a slice of award winning carrot cake for desert with an espresso, and exquisite service all evening long made for an ideal anniversary celebration. The only thing that put a damper on our evening were the three children who were literally running amok in the place. Two moms who clearly wanted a night out away from kids. Now, the food: • The pulled pork poppers? 10/10. Perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and smoky inside, with two sauces that made it impossible to pick a favorite. A flavor-packed appetizer we wouldn’t change a single thing about. • The fried chicken sandwich with pimento cheese? Elite. Thick, crunchy, juicy chicken with all the right toppings and that creamy, dreamy pimento that took it into comfort food heaven. • We also tried the Lemon Pom Pom and a Strawberry mocktails—both light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced to pair with the richness of the meal. “A great late breakfast at this IHOP. Every table-side staff member was excellent with refills and delivered service with a smile. I was more than full on my CFS and eggs. My wife's omlette was hearty with delicious fresh diced tomatoes on top. I highly reccomend this IHOP.
