“My quandary: give Hannah’s the rave review it deserves and risk not being able to get a table on a Saturday night or just pretend we never made it to dinner? Looking for a new restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, my wife made a reservation at this gem in Denton and we were not disappointed. Our table was laid out with rose petals to celebrate the occasion and the staff wished us a Happy Anniversary. The menu had a multitude of items that sounded mouth-watering, so the decision making process was tortuous. We settled on bacon wrapped dates and steamed mussels as appetizers. The dates were moist and the bacon crispy, a perfect bite of sweet and salty. The mussels were perfectly steamed with a delicious broth and the perfect crispy, warm French bread to sop it up. A great start. My wife ordered Beef Cheek stuffed Ravioli, remembering how much she loved the beef cheeks we first ate in Spain. Ground meat in the ravioli topped with a perfect ragu of tomatoes, beef cheek, and vegetables. I am drawn to duck whenever I see it on the menu and the Rosemary smoked Duck Breast was cooked to perfection; crispy skin, juicy meat, and a sun dried cherry pico tart enough to complement its maple syrup glaze. The sliced duck breast was served atop a wild rice and vegetable pancake that was unique and perhaps the star of the dish. Come on, who wouldn’t love pancakes for dinner? A couple glasses of wine with dinner, a slice of award winning carrot cake for desert with an espresso, and exquisite service all evening long made for an ideal anniversary celebration. On this visit, we enjoyed the Black Diamond Blackened Chicken. The mix of flavors was incredible. We also had the fries, and they were outstanding. They reminded me of the fries I grew up on, the kind you could happily eat all day. The Margherita pizza featured a perfectly zesty sauce. To round it off, we tried the cheese tortellini with chicken. Let me just say, this dish is a can’t miss. The decor has such a fun ski lodge vibe. It is clear they put thoughtful effort into creating an atmosphere that stands out from so many other ordinary DFW restaurants. It feels warm, inviting, and unique. Lastly, the staff truly sets this place apart. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful. Eric was especially sweet. He made sure our to go items were packed with care, wished us well for the rest of our evening, and warmly invited us back. We drove from Frisco to try this spot, and it was absolutely worth the trip. Make the drive to Argyle for this standout restaurant. You will definitely want to keep coming back.“

“While staying at the Marriott at 3300 Championship Pkwy, Fort Worth, Texas, October 31- November 1 2024 went had dinner at Jackdaw Restaurant. Our queen. Our Lunch MVP. She was kind, attentive, hilarious, and genuinely made us feel like we were the highlight of her day. She anticipated what we needed before we even asked, gave us fantastic recommendations, and treated us like old friends. She wasn’t just doing her job—she was the energy. She took a great meal and made it a memorable experience. Diana, if you see this: You’re the reason we’ll be back again and again. Give this woman a raise, a crown, and whatever shift she wants. Now, the food: • The pulled pork poppers? 10/10. Perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and smoky inside, with two sauces that made it impossible to pick a favorite. A flavor-packed appetizer we wouldn’t change a single thing about. • The fried chicken sandwich with pimento cheese? Elite. Thick, crunchy, juicy chicken with all the right toppings and that creamy, dreamy pimento that took it into comfort food heaven. • We also tried the Lemon Pom Pom and a Strawberry mocktails—both light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced to pair with the richness of the meal. “I think this Dickey’s may be under new management, because the food tasted absolutely amazing, and I’ve been to Dickey’s plenty of times before. The manager mentioned they prepare their food overnight, and you can definitely tell the difference.
I had the chicken, sausage, and ribs. The ribs were falling off the bone, the sausage was solid, and the smoked chicken had a great smoky flavor while still being extremely tender.
What really stood out to me, though, was the customer service. The manager personally took my order and clearly cares about the customers. At one point, he noticed someone left their drink behind and literally ran out the front door to make sure they got it back.
That kind of service, combined with the quality of the food, definitely makes this location worth coming back to.“

“I was visiting Denton with my gal and her brother. Just in town for a couple of days and on Friday night decided to have some breakfast. Nothing better than the Waffle House! Gabby was our server and she took care of us. She provided quality hospitality and made sure we had everything and was constantly checking on us. Christopher who was the cook that evening after our order was served, took the time to come to our table and asked how was everything and engaged in conversation with us.
