“This place is a hidden treasure - Although I've driven close to The Hitchcock Post many hundreds of times, I had no idea that it even existed until a couple of nights ago when a friend who is familiar with the establishment took me there.

Arriving close to midnight, the bar was busy but not too crowded and we managed to find a vacant table almost immediately. Someone arrived very quickly at our table to take our drink orders and she came across as being very polite, friendly and knowledgeable about what drinks were available. After taking our order it only took a couple of minutes before she returned to the table with our drinks.

There was a mixed bag of patrons in the bar ranging in age from around the mid 20s all the way up to people in their 60s. It was definitely a friendly crowd, split roughly equally between male & female and I would say that the majority of people were well-dressed in going out attire which thankfully wasn't too formal.

The juke box was loud enough to be heard but at the same time wasn't overpowering, and the restroom was very clean and well maintained.

This is definitely a place that I'll be returning to now that I've found it. I'm not sure if food is served there, but if it is then I'll definitely be making my next visit around dinner time.

All in all, having a drink at The Hitchcock Post was a perfect way to finish off a long and tiring day.“

“Ok for a place to hang out in an open-air place to hang out and enjoy adult beverages. Seemed more like a treehouse than a bar. But, it drew a decent crowd of bikers during the rally for being several miles away from the main action.We wanted to ride a little away from the masses, so it filled the bill. Kudos to their parking attendants, they really controlled the lot.There was no food served by Woodys, but there was a food truck there. I think they should've offered a few portapotties the mens room was often overwhelmed. I heard many of the ladies comment upon seeing the long line of men waiting for the restroom. Most said the world is upside down here.“

It was Wednesday night steak and it was really good, I had macaroni and cheese and green beans with sausage and had me sum dandy ole ice cold draft beer man what else could you ask for after a hard day's work? I had a great time hanging out and the service was outstanding please go check this out 15 dollars a plate. And if a glance of cleavage is required or appreciated you came to the right place lol..“

“My husband and I went here to relax after a few days of our vacation in Galveston. We were staying in Texas city and looked up local bars and this one had the best reviews. It was clear to see why when we got there. Pat was very kind, the bar was clean, and the atmosphere was laid back. We aren't locals, but we were treated like we were. When we go back on vacation to the coast and we want to relax after a day of play, we will come back here.“

Walking up to the venue, jazz music was playing. This put me in my happy zone immediately!! It set the mood right out the gate. We were seated with no wait. We made a reservation. Nick was our server. He was very personable. Top notch table maintenance and follow-up! Now, let's talk about the delicious food! We had the $40 brunch buffet. We felt it was as worth it! I tried the following: gumbo, bacon, sausage, hash potatoes, chicken & waffles, fried fish, greens, smoked salmon, boiled shrimp, grits..,,whewwww! I didn't get to enjoy the omelet station or the carving station. More reason to return...AND WE WILL! We washed it down with mimosas with OJ and PJ! Tasty tasty. We couldn't believe a full bottle of was only $10. I was expecting a champagne split not bottle! There is a bar area right off of the buffet lines. The bar has swings!! Like “when you were a kid” swings!! Also, there is patio seating too! Live jazz music was playing the entire time we were there! Again, another reason to return!! Great experience all the way around! It can get pretty busy at times and you have to wait for drinks and food , but they do have some great wait staff , I think they are just under staffed. My favorite time to go is Crawfish season , man they got the best in my opinion.....Overall worth a visit , good drinks and cold beer“

We ordered a Philly cheese steak and onion rings to share and the food was absolutely perfect! Definitely 5+ starts to the chef!! Drinks were great too and we will definitely be back during our visit to Galveston! If you've had a bad experience here prior to just a few weeks ago, you should seriously give them another try. During our conversations, we were told that this place had gotten a bad reputation for service and staff and these two specifically (Taylor and Aiden) were working very hard to turn that around. It sounded like both of them truly cared about the customers and the business and they want to make it the best possible place for people to come and visit. Even though they were getting ready to close up when we arrived, we never felt like we were being rushed or that we were a bother. It was a wonderful, relaxing experience and one we really enjoyed!“
