“Staff was so welcoming! Food was amazing! The owner is doing an amazing job running this place. The whole staff worked like a team and gave incredible service! Even the bus boy greeted us! Food was great and it was huge portions! The server made us feel so welcomed, thank you Stephanie.”
“My go-to drink's usually a Moscow mule and they had so many options entailing ginger beer that I struggled to decide! We sat at the bar and the service was excellent. The drink was also great and strong, not at all watered down. The outside was also very cute with Christmas lights strung around and set up to be comfortable enough for long conversation as well.”
“I'm can't remember what made us decide to try this place but it turned out to be one of the best experiences I've had in a while. We were seated as soon as we came in, even though the place was super busy. And had the best waiter. Forgive me if I can remember his name but he was great. (Got a pic of him though) He made some food suggestions the were spot on. And kept checking on us. I had the fried catfish and red beans and rice. And was immediately hooked. Perfect amount of seasoning and hot and fresh. I wish they would move this location to Houston. I've GOT to go back. ?Parking: Free street parking as well as paid lots but In a very busy area.Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty wheelchair accessible ramps.”
“The place was beautiful, decorated nicely and had thee cutest cutlery. I ordered the Cajun seafood pasta which was good but was missing something as far as flavor. My friend ordered the Pasta Orleans, she said it was good but felt that there weren't too many options to choose from. The staff was very friendly and attentive.”
“My kind of place! Super chill, cozy place with lots of seating. They have comfy, sweet, colorful retro seating and beautiful teal blue bars. The space has a historic/rustic feel with exposed brick walls and high ceilings. There's a lot of space throughout for ALL the activities they offer! They have a large shuffleboard, a bunch of pool tables, and a dartboard. There are also a lot of big screen TVs to watch your favorite sporting event. They have live music on occasion, and it's dog friendly too! Great place for hanging out with friends and/or meeting some locals or out of towners. Everyone goes here, which is why I like it so much. The drink specials are good, and their signature drink menu has something for everyone. Highly recommend. LOVE this place!”
“This bar is a hidden treasure! It combines exceptional interior design, a well-maintained pool table, and a vibrant crowd. The thoughtfully chosen music sets the mood for a memorable night out, and the personal touch of the owners adds an extra layer of charm. What sets this place apart is their commitment to staying active and engaging the community. They host a multitude of exciting events, from thrilling pool game competitions to create an atmosphere that keeps patrons coming back for more. It's not just a bar; it's an experience! Definitely a top spot in town!”
“The food was soooo good, the staff were amazing and super friendly, the restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was perfect! We ordered the Ahi tuna wontons as an appetizer and it was absolutely delicious and very light on the stomach, leaving room for the oyster sampler (10/10), and our respective entrees. The blackened shrimp pasta was delicious and the steak was seasoned perfectly. We ended the night with the bourbon pecan pie, and for someone who doesn’t like pie, I absolutely loved it. 10/10 recommend and we will definitely go back again when we re-visit Galveston!”
“Sherry, Jim, John & the entire staff are phenomenal. They're all friendly, courteous & very attentive to the needs of their patrons, even when they are being overrun with customers. It's a safe place where you can feel comfortable enough to let your guard down & relax for a while.”
“Had a great time here while my ship was visiting. Many great bars in Galveston Texas but this one was quite convenient for foot traffic. Live bands, playful but direct bartenders. Always had a good time does get crowded on a hot Saturday night so it's a line for the bathroom at times. Folks are friendly and respectful definitely no need for security beside the bartenders are like Charlie's angels you might not want to be too rude. Drink prices are reasonable and they have nachos.”
“Came to bubbas on a whim and loved it. Jaclyn boosted my energy and created such a fun environment.Felt like I was hanging out with my friends. Had so much fun and good conversation within the first 10-20 min, we decided this is where we’re staying for the day. We will definitely come back!!”
“Very professional staff, food was 5star, and whoever takes care of the grounds and pool does an excellent job paying close attention to detail.Cant wait to be invited back again soon. Be sure to ask for Jesse, she's top notch all the way.”
“Insanely cool venue for one-of-a-kind shows. The seating is very intimate and a bit packed together, so you’ll make close friends with your table mates, but it all just adds to the experience. Bar service was quick and friendly and the will call experience operates smooth. I look forward to coming back here.”
“I LOVE VIDA AGAVE!!!!! I’ve been here twice in one week and so happy to have come here. The thai chili chicken tacos are DIVINE, also love the fried salmon tacos! Can’t go wrong with the charro beans. Cat was an amazing server! Love her energy :) she was so attentive to us.”
“Val is a great bartender she was super busy and let me know it would be a minute before she can get my drink which is nice I didn't feel ignored. She's really funny and nice and made me feel welcome! I'm from out of town and she's super sweet love this bar definitely will come back to see her. Good people and great Atmosphere! If your looking for a small lil dive bar this is the place to be. Also it was my birthday great time thank you Val”
“This was a cool little dive bar. We went during Oktoberfest and it was jumping! The owners/staff were super friendly and prompt especially during such a busy time! Great clean bathrooms! They had a band outside in the cool patio area. Definitely will stop by again.”
“Lots of variety of souvenirs. Air conditioning! Fast friendly service. Very ADA friendly with long ramp entrance. There’s a nice area overlooking the water and Pleasure Pier nearby with rocking chairs where you can sit and have drinks that can be purchased inside. There’s also tower-viewer binoculars.”

“I like this place a lot it has a really cool atmosphere. It's chill it's bar food you know it's probably a C minus but it's cool. The atmosphere is what's happening holiday of poetry nights they have a tarot card readings they have it's like the intellectual spot to hang out with smart people I really like it. It's a very good environment for your artistic of the bartenders are absolutely cool have a good drinks for sure and it's a great atmosphere.”
“I don't typically review bars but this was a cool little spot for a late night game of pool and drinks. We got 2 great drinks for 11 dollars... that's incredible. I had the Mexican candy drink which was amazing. The bartenders name escapes me but she was cool and friendly. Love that it feels so homey and comfy with the little lounge area that I understand is a new edition.I would definitely return if i was in the area again!.”
“What a wonderful local gem! The ambiance is definitely old school and the hospitality is top notch. Ms.Sandy and her staff were there to serve. My husband enjoyed playing video poker while I watched football. Best drinks and service near the Stand. We'll be back and always recommend others to stop by for a drink.”
“This is a rough little joint directly across from the seawall. I was told it is the oldest bar down there. The cops were there for a domestic scuffle, and a fella was so drunk that he kept forgetting that we were NOT the people that had the matching Corvette to endlessly "talk shop" with. It was like 4 o'clock on a Sunday. It was a good time. I will be back. It was cool. I don't think they have food at all, but I am giving the food 5 stars because i don't know if it hurts the score. Definitely give it a whirl.”
“Killer dive bar!! Excellent view, right on the beach. Definitely a locals joint, but they treat you right, very warm and friendly. Great service, genuinely nice staff, cold beer, served in a koozie! Remember, this is a dive bar, complete with colorful characters, happy to chat or leave you be, it was a fun hang! I'll be back whenever I'm out that way!”
“This was a great place my granddaughter and I were on a little excursion, we decided to ride to Galveston for the day and we went to a couple bars and this place was just a small little bar and the atmosphere was very good the bartender was extremely nice and the people that were in there were great to it was early do it wasn’t very crowded but it was perfect. We r grieving over some passing of close family members so we just wanted to sit and enjoy ourselves and that we did. We even left and came right back to it because we had a little car problem so we needed to sit awhile in a cool place to get our heads together to get home and we went back and played some music and just sat and enjoyed. So I highly recommend this place it was very peaceful and welcoming and very homely.”
“Low key place for locals. Had the baseball game playing on multiple TV's. Pool tables, plenty of bar space (they actually have two spots in one, and the bartender was very nice and quick to bring me a beer. There's construction on the road out front but the side door and parking is open”
“This place was a great all around visit. The drinks were served timely and so was the appetizer, Jalapeño Bites. I had the Baja fish tacos, She had the Blue Crab Avocado Toast, our son had the Death burger. It was a good experience and the prices were very reasonable.”
“This place used to be The Bar Next Door and it was only a wine bar. They have reopened and now have a full bar as well as a large selection of wine. We were there for a few hours on St. Patrick's Day and had a great time with Sherri and all the locals. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. They still allow you to order food from the pizza shop next door and eat it in the bar. It was a great experience with reasonably priced drinks. We will be back.”
“This is the oldest bar still operating in downtown Galveston. They opened in 1986. Tiffany took great care of us. It’s definitely a locals hang out. We stopped in on a late Saturday afternoon and everyone who walked in after us seemed to know each other. They were all very welcoming to us though. Prices are great. 4 drinks was $17 before tip (don't forget to tip your bartenders!). The decor is really fun. Witty sayings and fun dive bar stuff that makes it unique. They have a small room off the regular bar area with a jukebox, tables and dartboards. Highly recommend if you want a fun Irish experience with decorative flare. Will return.”
“We had a birthday party for a friend who turned 70. The Hurricane II was perfect, since it started out as two bars. One side has the bar and the other side just has tables / chairs. They open at noon and we quickly setup all the party balloons . Domestic cans were only $2 during Happy Hour and $2.50 afterwards. We had a great time and the bartender was very responsive to our drink refills. Next time we are in Galveston, we will definitely stop by the Hurricane”
“What a great find! If we lived on the island, this would be our Cheers! We stopped in for "just one drink after dinner." Three hours later my husband was pouring me into bed. Great service, great drinks (you order a double...you get a double!), and just a fun vibe. The patrons were nice and welcoming...we had fun chatting with them and playing pool.”
“I loved this place. The Bar tender was incredible & I enjoyed talking with some of the regulars. The food though was amazing. I got pork tacos & they were perfect. Next time I'm in Galveston I'm definitely stopping by again.”
“Excellent little small bar with the AC working excellent in 100 degree weather. Bartender was great. Crowd was pleasant. It is a smokers bar but that's not a detraction for me. I like the atmosphere. But I like "hole in the walls." Bathroom extremely clean which is a sign that a bar is concerned about its image. The rest of the place was clean and kept up. I'll be back.”
“Not sure if this is Molly's or Old Cellar. The same place? This is a nice little bar, it's New Year's Eve and there are almost no people here. My partner and I can't figure this out. Good place, one star deducted because no whipped cream on the Irish coffee.”
“Great waitress, she could not have done a better job! Fast service in a very busy restaurant is rare but it happened during our dinner last night. We will continue to return, thank you for a wonderful evening of excellent food and service. Our waitress was Crisana !”
