“Very casual fried seafood spot by the water. The service was wonderful, the lady who took our order was so friendly and helpful! She suggested I choose the tator tots with my fried seafood platter and I’m so glad she did. They were golden and crispy. The fried fish was my favorite, the fried shrimp were okay and the hush puppies were delicious. Overall, a pleasant experience. The place is easy going, nothing fancy. A good chill spot to go.“

The bone marrow appetizer was delicious and the lamb lollipops were expertly prepared, both of which paired wonderfully with the Bravium Pinot Noir. The plantain-encrusted Chilean sea bass with Raspberry-Jalapeño sauce was fresh, bright, moist, and incredibly flavorful, pairing delightfully with their Reisling. We finished the evening with a slice of cheesecake. A genuine top shelf meal, and an experience worth trying.“

Staff is very attentive and friendly. It is expensive, especially with wine, so just know it is not fast food. It is elegant high brow dining. Lunch specials are more economical and still quite good. “I've waited to review this trying to give an accurate opinion. The 3rd time in, I can say it's not for me. The fish is definitely fresh and the portions are rather large. But they've added so much cheese and oil to everything well, why bother with fresh? The mac n' cheese was the original draw. It can be a meal by itself, so yes, shareable side is accurate. The crab is on top of homemade heavily cheesed thick noodles and covered with baked cheese. I took some home, ate part the next day before throwing it out. It's just too much cheese. The garlic cheese bread is an open loaf, low on garlic and topped with cheese and a splash of dried herbs. But the cheese is consistently concentrated in the center of the loaf and needs to be cooked longer. The boatload of shrimp & fettuccine has a LOT of shrimp. Def a shrimp lovers delight but the alfredo... well see the pic. Soooo much oil and fat. I left pools of it in the dish and well, you can see what was there after the refrigerator... noodles are a little overcooked, sauce consistency feels like too much flower/corn starch rather than flavor. The first couple of bites are peppered but it quickly dissipates. Personally, I'm not a big black pepper person so I was happy but for those that are, you could be disappointed. The grouper itself was good, the sides meh. Breaded shrimp is heavily battered and crisply fried, fries were a bit over cooked going past golden brown. The house Sauvignon blanc was nice. The first time we went the pina colada's were the best with a large natural coconut flavor, most recently it tasted more like a premix added to ice and liquor. They serve it in a fun tiki style glass that can be purchased as a souvenir. No diet coke, but they have coke zero. And well this is Galveston, so I have to comment, while it's possible I've started to becoming accustomed to the flavor here... the water is pleasantly drinkable. That's coming from the person who has VERY good faucet filters even for cooking. Overall, as a fish lover, I'll say it's fresh, the way its prepared deminishes that quality. The place isn't bad, it's just not great.“

He moves around inside the park during the summer and winter months so if you can't find him CALL! Hubby ordered the burger and fries and he LOVED it! I have to say that the fries were delicious and crispy. Better than most for sure. I got the Ruben and OMG was it fantastic! I'm pretty picky about my Ruben and this one definitely was one of the best! We both got the homemade lemonade and it didn't disappoint either! Now for something a little sweet you have to try his homemade funnel cake!!!!!! He has several varieties. We went with the strawberry cheesecake funnel cake and it was deliciously perfect.......I gained 5lbs. So I asked our waiter (aka Daniel) if there was any non-alcoholic drinks and there wasn't. A few minutes later he asked if I like strawberry or mango and I said both. “Came here today for Valentine's Day brunch. While I'm not excited about driving 1.5 hours to go have brunch, I am beyond elated that I made the decision to head there.Reservations are required, and as they get closer to the summer it will be busier and busier. Per Nicky, the waiter we had today who was a gem.I eat pretty clean and well during the month but not this day. Spending 80 bucks a person, I am eating my weight in carbs, and fat. And they have plenty of each. And lots of desserts to top it off.You walk into a beautiful old hotel right across from the beach. Great entrance, friendly people. Inside we were seated in a circle booth then the debauchery began. Crab legs, shrimp, and oysters are what greet you under a ice sculpture.A funny table with some green stuff on it that I paid zero attention to. A bread station. Then on the left you had eggs, bacon, sausage, and a eggs Benedict. Mashed potatoes, jerk chicken , biscuits and gravy I'm sure I missed something but it's all in the photos. On the right there is a omelet bar, a pasta bar, and a waffle bar. And I'm not exactly what crack they put in that batter but I had two waffles. Two. Melted butter on top and syrup was great. They have fried chicken there as well, tried it. Not my favorite. The pork tenderloin bar and the prime rib bars were awesome. But the dessert? The dessert hall was great. Stuffed cupcakes, cream puffs, whoopee pies. Just look at the photos. They will say more than I can.Wait staff. Now I have read some reviews that they were attentive or cleaned up plates very often but this wasn't my experience. Felt they did an exceptional job at making sure the table was cleared and cleaned. Will I come back? A question I always try to answer at the end of my reviews; and a resounding yes. Expensive. Sure. Good ROI for the food options there? Absolutely. It's a treat and you should treat yourself.“

“I am going to preface this review with three notes. #1 we had a toddler with us and #2 they accommodated us by seating us earlier than our reservation and #3 this has nothing to do with cost of meal. This was a Saturday night in February.Service:The pacing on the meal was terrible... For what we ordered, I can't believe we were at the restaurant for almost 2 hours. We were constantly waiting - between an appetizer and our main course was easily 30+ minutes. We ordered kids food and it came out 45-50 minutes before the main course? I think this could have been fine but our kid was sitting bored while we stuffed our food in as fast as possible towards the 1 hr 40 minute mark... I honestly have no clue if the kitchen was messed up or if the server was clueless...Food:The food overall was great. I liked everything food-wise we were served. We did the snapper ceviche to start and based on the portion size, the price was completely fine. It was very good. The pre-meal bread with oil and herbs was solid. A nice touch and very good.My order of crawfish pasta was solid and at $22 was a decent value pick. My wife ordered the seafood pasta and she loved it and it looked great.Drinks:3/12 of their whiskey menu items were not in stock, I didn't even bother asking for more and ordered a cocktail instead. The whiskey cocktail was not great and overall ok... My wife ordered a house Malbec and she liked it. Our server didn't ask us for more drinks... I wouldn't have gotten more but they didn't ask. Our drinks took 20-ish minutes to come out.Overall:I would probably be more like 3/5 if they hadn't seated us extra early on the reservation so that's bonus points and where I land at 4/5.“

“Great menu and very good choices for appetizers. Servers are very courteous and we have never had a problem with the wait for food. You need to know some things like wings take a while - just the nature of wings. We dine here frequently and I think some of the "complaining" reviews are posted from people who would never be happy ANYWHERE.“

“Amazing people, food, and service. I was at The Spot a few days ago. Being a vegetarian, I asked the manager if the onion rings are cooked in the same grease as meat. With a smile he told me they most certainly are not. I also asked if parking in between the dirt lot and the restaurant is free and again with a smile he answered it is so......great vegetarian safe space and people. One of my favorite places to eat whenever I am on the island!“

“This was my second time at Landry's and my husband's first. I went back in 2022 and again Feb 2024.Amazing place for a fancy dinner and high quality seafood. My husband opted for ribeye. It tasted amazing too, although he wasn't a fan of the glaze sauce they provided. At least it was on the side. Both times I had the chef's special, red snapper. First picture is more recent, and the second was back in 2022. Obviously now they use WAY more sauce, and it's better for it! Snapper is my favorite fish and this is definitely my favorite dish!! The sauce was lick-your-plate delicious!!Price wise, it's actually not bad for what you get. You also have amazing views out the windows during the day, and I'm sure the patio dining would be lovely.Staff is very friendly and accommodating. It's quiet and the atmosphere is great for a romantic date. <3“

“Amazing 7 course meal on New Year’s Eve. There were options for soup or salad. Lamb Pops or Fried green tomatoes w/lump crab. We had the best lamb pops ever. The rosemary was perfectly subtle. Then we had a choice of Red Snapper or the Filet with Cheese grits and green beans. The cheese grits were amazing. We had the filet and it was perfectly cooked. Then we had the choice of cheesecakes between New York or chocolate and we took the chocolate. Amazing flavor with a hint of espresso. The staff was very good and eager to please the guests. The chef is obviously very good, the wait staff is very good, the runners were acceptable and the atmosphere was well above average. We had a great time and enjoyed our New Year’s Eve champagne (Wycliff Brut).Very pleasant and wonderful time.“

“Excellent food, large portions, and prompt service (though admittedly we did come when it was rather slow) Easily my favorite meal during our whole trip and the prices were quite reasonable. If you like Mexican, then you should absolutely go here. The steak fajitas were delicious!“
