“We were in Crystal Beach for last day of our vacation on a Sunday evening and did not have any luck fishing. We were told of this place and luckily he was still open @ 6pm. We picked up grouper and shrimp. We grilled the grouper and boiled the shrimp. My boyfriend was born and raised on fishing boats in Alaska. He is still raving over the grouper and the shrimp. Highly recommend this hidden place in Crystal Beach!“

“We came down to our place at the coast to celebrate New Years Eve. Then decided to go to Tia Juanita’s Fish Camp for an early afternoon dinner. Decor, atmosphere, service and most of all, the shrimp brochette, jalapeño cheese grits and sautéed vegetables were awesome. Highly, highly recommend Tia Juanita’s. Have never had a bad meal! (Just wish they would expand to Canyon Lake!!!)“

“Make sure you get Sky as your server. She's the best. She knows the place really well and knows what dishes to recommend (even though they are all delicious). Do not bypass the shrimp kisses as an appetizer and the blackened fish is better than new orleans. Wonderful restaurant.“

“Went to Tiki today 10/8/22. There was a group of us that flew in, I guess 13 in all. They were doing a good business today with several tables full of customers. They allowed us to pull tables together for our group. Even having several customers and light on staff our drink orders were taken promptly. As we all visited the waitress took our orders and for our size group the food came out in a timely manner. Everyone was happy with their food and no complaints as far as timing. Our group will be going back!!!!“

“We went for brunch, which was delicious. The Porch used to be very busy during weekend brunch, but it has been nearly empty the last two times I've visited. They closed for a while but reopened with a fabulous new chef , so I highly recommend giving the place another look. This visit we had seasonal pancakes, which included caramelized apples and a frothy whipped cream that truly complemented the dish rather than simply being decorative. We have also had the shrimp and grits, scramble and crab cakes and every dish has been tasty and beautifully presented.“

“The food is classic tex-mex or seafood.
Offering a full menu of both.
(Hint the soft shell crab plate does not have Michelin stars, but it should ! Wow, what a fantastic meal ! )
Family owned, with friendly staff. There's beer, comfortable chairs, outdoor seating was available upon request. I sat outside watching the ships go up the channel,, in front of the Galveston skyline. People can pick up to go orders. Port Bolivar is lucky to have such a great food service location, if you're in the area I definitely recommend eating here. La Playita did not disappoint, the prices were more than fair and the tea glass stayed full !
Vegetarian options: Yeah just say no meat.
Remember cheese enchiladas will also make you fat.“
