“It's been quite a few years since I had been to a Captain D' s. The exterior has seen better days but it's the I was coming for. The inside seemed ripe for renovation. Food was rather prompt but the fish portions were long and skinny. Hush puppies were nice and hot as were the fries. Not many others were dining at the same time but they seemed to be doing steady to go business. Would return.“

“O M G! When I say this is the best chicken sandwich I've ever eaten....I'm nit cluckin With you!! It was absolutely perfect from the decadent Brioche bun, the rich crispy but light batter, the juicy chicken, perfectly sweet slaw and sauce with JUST the right amount of heat. When they sat it in front of me I didn't think I could eat it all it was so large.... but it was TOO PERFECT to not enjoy the entire thing. I only wish they were in Austin also. If your ANYWHERE within an hour of this place, it's worth the drive. The employees were also delightful, cheerful and appreciative. 50 STARS!!“

“This was our first visit, and we thought it was very good! The seafood gumbo had great flavor and lots of shrimp. Our fried shrimp were fresh and fried just right with a great batter. Thomas was our waiter and was very attentive. We would definitely eat there again when we're in the area.“

Please feed us your fantastic food when people eat dinner at dinner time. Please stay open with delivery until 10pm everyday.

“Shrimp and oysters were severely under cooked, almost raw. We have been going to this restaurant for years and it was always great but will not go back! We told the cashier and she was not receptive, just took our money. There didn't seem to be a manager or owner available for us to talk to. We will not be back and will certainly spread this news!“

The food ws delicious. 10/10.

But the service was even better. The employee checked on us repeatedly and made sure we liked it. He ws awesome.

Their shrimp tempura roll is the widest I’ve ever seen and the lettuce is interesting—we both liked it. The three sushi roll lunch deal was plenty for two and I’ll bring my husband back to try their chirashi. This is healthy competition for the Edo Japan sushi buffet, and Yamamori’s fish cuts are thicker and seem healthier“

“I used to go to the Boyd’s in tc all the time to get my crawfish but after I have had it here. I’m NEVER going back to the Texas city location. The flavor is always delicious. Heads always got the most juice. Prices are always reasonable“

“Just came from our first visit and the food was delicious, the presentation was beautiful and we were served quickly. We had the avocado toast and barria tacos and they were both amazing. I will say we were a bit confused as to how and where to order at first. There are wait staff but some people ordered from a window. We will be going back for sure to try other items. “All the food is excellent. The house steak is great and warms up well for leftovers. I recommend using a fork with that though. I am always getting the subs and seafood. And they fix them to order, but I always get them with what they always put on them. This location also does online ordering but I have not tried that yet.“

“This is great if you want (what I call) Texas Cajun and not Louisiana Cajun. Their chicken fried steak and parmesan crusted chicken are both fabulous! The bisque is also amazing. My husband, who is from Louisiana, detests their crawfish. He says the Gumbo (which has a super dark rue) and the etouffee are ok but not his favorite. Overall, it seems like the fried and creamy sauced things are usually great. Also, we really like they usually have 80-90s music playing.

Updating (July 2026) to say that this place is hit or miss. When it's good, its great. However, more often than not, it's not as good as it used to be.“

“I may be a bit picky with this review but its about fried food. Especially fish of any type. I like the first bite. The wow factor. Hot and the breading golden brown. When it comes down to the breadcrumb coating. I look for that to be with no exceptions wonderfully seasoned. Many combinations work. But if with no matter the mix of spices falls slightly below the WOW factor then the dish is just there because you bought it and stuck. The place has great service. But in fried seafood it's understood to get repeat business it has be super delicious. I'm mean what made fried chicken famous, take a guess.“

But, the manager that was there her name was Tammy was amazing.
