“Whenever I visit the island I ask local friends to recommend places I haven’t yet tried. This is how I found Gonzalo’s. What a great recommendation! Had a great chat with the owners. Got a breakfast burrito to go and ate it while watching the waves roll in. The burrito was OUTSTANDING and so are Angela and Felipe. I will be back and next time I’m going to dine in. Super cute and cozy in there. Highly recommend!Vegetarian options: You are allowed to sub. I swapped out bacon for avocado on my burrito.“
“This was the first place we ate on the island upon moving here 7 years ago - on their opening day nonetheless! This place still has incredible food. The service is good. It gets very loud during dinner service which makes conversation difficult. We could also smell strong cigarette smoke presumably from the staff as we were seated at the rear of the restaurant. Overall I highly recommend.“
“I've been going to Mario's Seawall restaurant since I moved to Galveston in 2012. Great food, good range in prices, affordable wine list, cheery staff. It's less than a quarter mile from my condo.Parking: Only one handicap space.“
“We went here because my granddaughter was celebrating her 21st birthday and wanted to experience a mimosa brunch. We were all pleased with the experience. Our waiter was excellent. He took it upon himself to bring my granddaughter a slice of birthday cake. Such a nice surprise. She was thrilled. My only complaint is that my eggs were very salty. Otherwise, I would rate it an all 5 star event.“
“After two days of failed attempts to find a "good" restaurant in Galveston, I stumbled on a gold mine. Really, really good food. Excellent unpretentious wait staff, fresh food and ingredients, a stellar wine list, wrapped in a 1940s dinner club atmosphere. Transport yourself to a finer time in a quality restaurant and at discounted prices! An exceptional experience. Ask for Liz. She went above and beyond!“
“Nice little mom-n-pop spot with authentic scratch-made Italian food. The restaurant and parking lot is small and looks prone to filling up quickly. . Atmosphere is cozy and intimate with open-room café-style seating. They might not be able to easily accommodate parties larger than eight if they are busy so I would call ahead if in a large group.I tried the Shrimp with Vodka Sauce and got the Cannoli with Ricotta for desert. Both were excellent! The food tastes fresh, full of flavor, and the portions were generous. I will definitely be back. They are also BYOB which is always cool on the wallet, just make sure to grab a bottle of vino on your way.“
“There is no better value especially in Galveston Texas, this is the buffet with the best spaghetti on earth. Pizza, salad, different foods on the buffet everyday dessert even includes an iced tea for around $15 and change and the best service they come around and refill your drink whatever you need this is just like “
“My love and I were in Galveston for a weekend getaway and Mardi Gras. Stopped into this veteran owned and operated gem. The Margarita pizza was delicious. Beer was cold. Only con I have is no beer on tap and it’s a small venue. Other than that AMAZING!! I will definitely be back.“
“Do you want to be to transported to little Italy after a long day trudging the sands? This is your place. We asked a local guide where the best place to get pizza on Galveston was and “Russo’s” was the immediate answer. We ordered the Halal Veggie Pepperoni that afternoon. We arrived a little early and the friendly staff told me it would be a few minutes. While I waited, I was tempted by the delicious array of Italian desserts so I decided to get tiramisu and chocolate cake as well. While I waited, I noticed how warm and inviting the ambience was. I regretted not making time to order and eat AT the restaurant because it seemed like it would be a cozy and fun experience. When we got back to the resort and tried the pizza, we were blown away. It was just so good. The pizza was cooked perfectly, the crust was delicious, the sauce, cheese, and toppings were all wonderful. The tiramisu was excellent. My biggest qualm is that Russos appears to be a Houston thing, so we won’t get to have any back home. Can’t wait to come back!“
“I order from Gino's all the time the food is always very good I just feel bad cause I had to cancel my last order due to a emergency that came up but I'm definitely going to go back time after Time you're missing out if you never had there try it they are really “
“The EventBrite description was written by someone who’s never been to this show. There were no tours or history but yes there a several rooms. We went to the Burlesque show 11/4/23. Do not bother getting there at 8, show starts at 9:30. Don’t bother dressing “upscale casual” either. Jeans, shorts and tennis shoes were the norm. Our show was delayed a bit waiting for folks to show up. About 39 seats, including barstools. Very small room but worth it to be so close to the talent. We paid $50 each for first row. Poppytart, Hollygospankme and Mahogany were the performers. All three were beautiful and the show was fantastic. I suggest playing stripper or sexy, suggestive music while we’re waiting and at intermission (instead of hard rock which I do love) as it would have enriched the experience. And please offer a white wine other than Chardonnay. This is not a high dollar production but the gals were top notch and it was worth every cent!“
“Yuuuuummy! Fresh toppings, great crust and a deal! We called in an order for a medium Mario’s special, bread and salad to go. Our order taker was pleasant. The pizza came loaded with quality ingredients. The cheesy garlic bread with marinara sauce was toasted to perfection and the marinara sauce was delicious. The garden salad had tomatoes, cucumbers and black olives. It was large enough for 2 people. Everything was wonderful! We were able to make 2 meals out of our order and still had bread leftover. In the Jamaica Beach area, I’ve now tried 2 pizza places. This one is by far the best for service, food quality and price. Highly recommend!“
“All the food was delicious. It was very authentic. On top of that the service was good and the price was very reasonable. The fresh pasta was delicious. Both Ravioli sauces were out of this world. We ordered the Mediterranean style Octopus, Italian antipasto, Bolognese, Ravioli with mushroom cream sauce, Ravioli Pesce, Veal Campagnola, and tiramisu for dessert. We tried this for the first time and will definitely come back again.“
