“I had the gumbo and highly recommend it. The gumbo comes in two sizes, big daddy and little daddy. The little daddy was more than enough for me. It's served with a scoop of steamed rice on top. The roux is dark and tasty. You can choose seafood or chicken/sausage gumbo. We also had the beignets; fresh from the fryer and covered in powdered sugar. Another notable item for breakfast is the chicken and waffles. The service was great.“
“The food was great. It was worth the money. The customer service was good. This was the second time we had eaten there. They have a very busy business. They need a bigger building to hold the business that they get. I understand that location is everything, but it seems like the business would follow them. I also understand that what is not broken doesn't need to be fixed.“
“Service was great, very nice, clean and friendly. I came in wanting some riblets, but they were priced at 11.99lb . So that means all you would probably get will be two. I was told that if I get the riblet plate combo I come out better , but what is 2 riblets vs 3 ( depending on how small or large they are) to me that is not a deal.. But to each it's own. I end up getting the 2 fish and 1 side for $10.55 which is not bad and the fish was hot and a nice size.. Overall customer service is very welcoming, but the prices aren't...Parking: Large parking lot , plenty of space.Wheelchair accessibility: LARGE ramp for access“
“The food was delicious, the service was friendly and attentive, but the prices were kind of ridiculous. $30 for some shrimp and rice - no matter how much rice - is a little ludicrous. I would have felt more satisfied at the end of the meal if we hadn’t just spent $75 on two people. Regardless, it was still a tasty dinner!“
“Always great, unpretentious atmosphere, fast friendly service. I eat here almost every time I'm on the island. The Cajun seafood Platter is my favorite thing. The Kids meal fish fingers is huge. No matter what you order get the Cajun potatoes!“
“Terrific food, and friendly staff but they cook to order and are very busy so it can take awhile for the order to be ready. (We think it's worth the wait!) It's takeout only and you wait outside, but there are some stools to wait on out of the sun. The place is right next to Boyd's bait store and that's busy also. Only a few nearby picnic tables, but you can go out on the Texas City Dike (which sometimes charges a fee) to find other picnic tables (which can be a bit sandy and have bird droppings) or you can eat in your vehicle.“
“We were a party of 7. Saw the reviews and decided to give them a shot. Called and asked if there was a wait and was told no, so we headed that way. Got a call 5 minutes later stating that they had a table already set for us. Wow!Our waiter (forgot his name ?♂️) was polite and thorough. Food was priced very fairly and everyone enjoyed what they ordered (gumbo, bacon wrapped shrimp, bourbon street, shrimp platter, etc.) While waiting for our food, noticed that the GM seems to have a problem with our waiter. Actually told him to “leave and come back with a better attitude”. News to us, as he seemed very pleasant….?♂️ This exchange took place next to the order pick up window which was right in the seating area. The manager approached them and they all went to the back. The situation was handled very well from that point forth. Everyone returned to their job shortly thereafter. (Even the GM who continued with doing absolutely nothing productive). In conclusion, food was great, service was great and glad they had at least one competent person in house to handle the GM’s compete lack of care. You have a staff that seems to work well together (outside of the GM) and solid food. Don’t jeopardize it.I’ll be glad to discuss our overall experience more in depth with an owner.“
