Bao Shi Yi Reviews
Do you have a favorite place that you absolutely love regardless of people's reviews and ratings? To me, Bao Shi Yi 包十一 is such a precious place that I love even more each time I visit. Bao means Bun, and Shi Yi, Eleven, can you guess the story behind the name?
On Saturday mornings, after dropping off father-in-law for his acupuncture session, we like to take a break and have some Chinese breakfast at Bao Shi Yi. The place is always lively with Chinese patrons on...read full review

i could not find the katy location Facebook page so ill post on their bellaire page. I really hate writing average or awful reviews on social media especially when it comes to small businesses. Menu
Bao Shi Yi is a Chinese restaurant that offers a variety of dishes, including xiao long bao and scallion pancakes. The food is generally described as good, with the xiao long bao and pork potstickers being the highlights of the meal. Customers have recently praised the freshness of the food, recommending the Fried Dumplings and Soy milk, and noted that the Chinese Hot Sauce is also impressive. However, the service has been reported as poor, with a rude waitress who would "dump" the food towards the customers and "throw" the receipt at them.
The restaurant's interior design has Chinese characteristics, creating a pleasant environment. The lighting is described as "pretty harsh," and the atmosphere is described as a "hole in the wall, low key feeling spot." Menu items like the braised beef soup and popcorn chicken have received mixed reviews, with some customers finding the dishes to be overly spiced and lacking in flavor. The beef rice noodle soup is noted for its texture and inclusion of pickled greens, which some find refreshing.
Despite the mixed reviews, the restaurant seems to have a quick, friendly, and dependable service, although the staff may come off as somewhat short. The xiao long bao and pork potstickers remain the standout dishes. Overall, Bao Shi Yi appears to be a decent Chinese restaurant, though the service and some of the menu items may not meet the expectations of all customers. Some visitors have also mentioned a strange smell in the restaurant, which could affect the dining experience.
