Typical restaurant atmosphere. Cheap chopsticks.Service I prefer...they leave you alone unless you need something (get their attention)There's a lot to order from here; I ordered a few appetizers, lots of skewers, curry, stirfry, matcha parfait, and some sake.Nothing tasted bad and a few tasted pretty good. My favorites were the wasabi ocopus, jellyfish, and curry rice.I will come here again for a good variety of Japanese style dishes to try more.
I grew up in Japan. This is my families favorite Japanese restaurant in Houston. All their food is great and they were the first place I found onigiri so I have a soft spot for them ??. The staff is warm and welcoming. Service is consistently excellent. Prices aren’t crazy. It’s just an all around good experience. Izakaya Wa is one of my top 3 favourite restaurants. All the food is so delicious and has a seasoned taste. I definitely recommend the torimune fried skewers, one order comes with 2 generously sized skewers, they were so good I had to get 3 orders! I also recommend the sushi dinner, all the fish is so fresh and the salmon has so much fat and the bluefin tuna was amazing also. You should definitely come here.
