“The food/ taste/ seasoning is absolutely delicious. I do not visit as often as I’d love to due to locality and personal diet. But every time I do, the food is ON POINT. The girls are friendly and nice folks. My favorite dish here is the ‘mixto con camarones y caracol al ajillo’. It’s a mixed seafood plate with perfectly blended shrimp and snail in light garlic sauce served over rice and beans, fried toasted plantains, and lettuce salad. Their aderezo (sauce) is the perfect topping. Never disappoints and it’s very fulfilling. You can share the plate with another person and still be full. Their desayuno (breakfast) plates are so good too. The prices are reasonable and it’s best to call to order before pickup.“

“Curating a great experience is what this place should be known for. I've wanted to check this place out since I knew Chris Williams was involved. I went for a late lunch on a Friday, sat at the bar and was not disappointed. Had an amazing crudo dish that was flavorful with a crunch on top that rounded out the dish. I also ordered the fried roots and sauted greens which both were not over complicated on the seasoning. When it came to service, Tyreek provided some amazing cocktails and provided great insight on the menu. I had the chance to meet the General Manager, Danny who was personable and completed the experience. I will absolutely go back for the full dinner experience.“

“My wife wanted to go here for our anniversary dinner. Her Venezuelan mother used to take her and her siblings their when they moved to the states. So it was symbolic/nostalgic… and magical. Our server was celebrating her anniversary today - and we just loved her service (so angry I can’t remember her name nor do I have a physical receipt). Empanadas were A+ As were all the meats, chicken, sausage we had for dinner. PARRILLADA MIXTA and the NY Strip — amazing. And they brought us a lovely anniversary dessert. Big fan. I’ll be back.“

“I woke up craving Seco’s legendary spinach enchiladas. We are in the middle of a pandemic and I am tired of my cooking so I called in to place an order to go for lunch. Chef Seco answered the phone and said he is sorry but they aren’t open for lunch right now. I said oh darn I’m craving your spinach enchiladas but I’ll call back another time. He said he was there accepting a delivery and would make them for me! I will never forget this and my belly is so happy right now. These enchiladas are to die for. As well as the soups, brunch and everything else. Thank you Chef Seco! On a side note-my family started frequenting Jalapeños regularly when I was about 7 or 8 (I’m 40) and I’ve been ordering the spinach enchiladas since then. I also used to work there in high school as a waitress.“

“The place is good, everything is good, the only bad thing is some rude and stupid customers who sit at the table to wait for the food even when there are people eating, they sit next to the customers but at the table they don't know how to use the benches.“

“My wife was craving pupusas but I was craving pollo asado so we ordered both.The pupusas were big and stuffed with cheese. The curtido had the perfect “pickled” taste. The salsa was tasty with a kick!The pollo asado plate fed us both and we had enough left over for a second round each. The pollo asado was very flavorful and the smoked sausages were a nice surprise. The rice was good and the charro beans were delicious. They had a good amount of sausage and bacon in them.“

“I visit 5411 Empanadas multiple times a week when I'm walking through the tunnel and I absolutely love Jade's customer service, the creativeness of the food, and the atmosphere. My co-worker and I discovered this business some several months back, and we just can't help but to come back. The chimichurri sauce is amazing. Definitely give it a try if you want to try a unique treat!

“I would also say this is the best pupusas I ever had. Tried so many places and no place can beat their taste. I don't mind driving an hour to get get them when I get the cravens. Because food is fresh and cooked when you order, it does take long. There are only two ladies cooking so I normally call in my order. Ready to go when I get there.“

“Love the atmosphere. It’s dark, full bar, plenty of seating. The only food I had was a couple different tacos on Tuesday; 1/2 off for taco Tuesday. The smoked salmon had a big flavor, the Buenos Aires tacos were good, but should have a bit more of their aioli, that is a good aioli! Make sure to ask for salsa or it will not come with the tacos. The verde is good, not quite hot enough for verde (the hotter of the sauces for tacos is normally verde; this was good just not hot). Beautiful place for a good time and a little trendy but not in a bad way. I would easily make it a regular place if I lived near Rice Village. Not overly expensive, but definitely on par for the area. No table service (except for receiving the food), which makes it lovable as a neighborhood bar. Old black and white movies on the tvs, and very cool easy listening music overhead that doesn’t overpower conversations. Awesome staff, friendly and helpful. They have a discount food option for every night. It’s a good option to avoid the overdone rice village trend setters yet could be a great place to bring friends. Outside seats with smoking. And 13 beers on tap. Even saw a beautiful dog with a customer. Overall it’s a great place and hope they continue to do what they do!
