My first introduction to Luby’s was with my grandmother. She likes to take the bus and tote us along for the ride. We looked forward to the kids plate with fried fish, Mac and cheese and jello. Fast forward till now. Grandma passed but my memories of eating here and taking her to the doctor and stopping here live on. It am glad it’s still here and the new owner kept it going. Sometimes you're in the mood for a good and healthy meal. This is the be place for fish, pork chop, chicken with tasty vegetables like fried okra or cauliflower. Quite a few people drop by even if it's Monday.Parking: At opening time 11 o'clock it's great. Later it is full, but there's also parking on the side, so there's no problem.

It’s a cafeteria so adjust your expectations; solid comfort food but nothing aesthetic in the place, which is part of the charm. Luby’s was a Texas staple from my childhood, so I am probably biased because of nostalgia, but this location had the same old school cafeteria vibes was I remember.
