Excellent appetizers, my favorite nachos con pablanos. There are many good Mexican restaurants in Houston but Lupe Tortilla is still my favorite.
Service has been hit or miss, and cumin in the guacamole is a head scratcher (tableside guac solves that). The fajitas (and especially the tortillas, of course) are excellent... BUT...
We had planned a Friday happy hour for 8-10 people, and they told us that happy hour is ONLY at the bar. For 8 to 10 people who will order food and a 2-3 drinks each, that's a pretty hefty tax for the privilege of sitting at a table appropriate for our group. We'll take it somewhere else.

Lupe Tortilla Mexican Restaurant offers a diverse dining experience. The food is generally good, and the menu offers a massive choice of dishes. The flour tortillas are enormous, and considered the best by many. The patio seating area provides a pleasant atmosphere, perfect for relaxed dining. Service can sometimes be slow, but staff members can also be friendly and responsive. The fajitas are out of this world, with reliable quality and a spice level that can be controlled. The lobster tail added to fajitas is a nice option with a good char. The green chicken enchiladas are the best ever had. The atmosphere is great, and staff provide steady drink and chip refills without asking. Hat-lamps hanging from the ceiling are a nice touch.
