Solid burgers and ok barbeque. Prices are reasonable ($10ish for double cheeseburger, fries and a drink) and they're pretty quick with orders (5-10mins). Fries are cooked ok but unseasoned (no salt) and so are pretty bland. Barbeque is also pretty average and is not what most people order because of that.
Convenient lunch option at the base of the escalator in the 600 Travis building. I've tried the bunless burger which was just ok. As sustenance, it was fine. I also had the brisket Philly cheese steak, sans bun, and it, too, was just ok... not enough cheese, and the brisket flavor was a bit one dimensional and salty. Service is very friendly and efficient!

I'm in Houston for a business trip.Wanted BBQ for lunch that was downtown and walkable. Ended up here. Got the 1951 special. Two meats, two sides, fountain drink. Got the brisket, pork ribs, potato salad and the broccoli cheese bake. The brisket showed a nice smoke ring and a nice beefy flavor.
