Roost is a cozy restaurant with a quiet atmosphere, despite being a small space. The service is friendly and attentive, with helpful staff who know the menu well. The food is fresh, delicious, and surprising, with standout items like the cauliflower and truffled ricotta gnudi. The cauliflower remains a favorite, and the gnudi has a dumpling-like texture with great flavor from baby mushrooms and Gruyère cheese. For dessert, the lemon tart and the chai spiced sticky toffee pudding are enjoyable, though portions are modest and dishes are designed for sharing. The ingredients used are very fresh, which makes the flavors shine. The atmosphere is enjoyable, and the service is professional. The decor has been recently renovated to look modern and fresh, adding to the welcoming vibe. It feels like a neighborhood spot, ideal for a relaxed hangout. Parking can be tight in the neighborhood. Overall, Roost offers great food in an intimate setting and is a place worth trying, especially when the menu rotates every six weeks. The mushroom toast and Texas peach appetizers are loved, and entrees like the pork chop and the mezzi rigatoni with short rib are fantastic. Desserts such as donut holes with coffee ice cream and caramel sauce, and the southern butter cake with stewed fruit are perfect endings.
