The service was great!
The food was not so great. We've been her before several times and we LOVED the food. The lemonade was the best we'd ever had. The food was so flavorful and so affordable. We would drive 45 minutes because it was worth the drive.
This time, I ordered a taco de tripa and the meat lacked flavor. They were also overcooked. The aguas frescas were okay. The tortillas were kind of dry and hardened quickly. I just dont think it's worth the drive anymore.

Taquerías El Alteño is a delicious Mexican restaurant. The Torta Milanesa and nopalitos gisados are highly recommended. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and cozy, with outstanding service. The tacos are generously filled with flavorful meat, especially the chicken fajita and shrimp options. The beef fajita is well-seasoned and easy to eat, paired with homemade flour tortillas. The lemonade is a refreshing choice. The charro beans have pieces of chicharron and bacon, and the shrimp are large. The caldo de res is good and has flavor. The salsa is warm and not too spicy, and you can ask for green salsa. The restaurant can accommodate big groups.
