“1/12/2025-This is a awesome vibe here. The ambiance is a nice bistro with some crazy art to keep you entertained but the music and lighting sets the mood. I would come back here again and again. I visited here without a reservation and was greeted when I first came in. The staff was nice friendly and attentive. Emma was awesome and recommended some dishes. The burger, half chicken, rice, and sesame butter cookie were awesome and the drinks. I had the voodoo drink. I highly recommended and you won't be disappointed.“

“Can’t go wrong visiting Moontower Inn. Their craft beer menu turns over quickly, and they always a great selection ranging from solids to rares. Food is great if limited. You can get gamey dogs here and they do a mean smash burger, and there’s not too much else though a couple sides really stand out. It’s also the atmospehere here…it’s open and airy. Its crowd is a mix of regulars, professionals and artsy types.

Parking. No dedicated lot, but ample side street parking.

If you’re looking for a place in east downtown to grab a casual bite or spend an hour or two trying out some good to great beers, you can’t beat this place“

“Great experience with new ownership! Vibe is upbeat, but chill. The food is both historic and some delicious modern takes on traditional dishes. Service was attentive and friendly, including the ownership’s personal attentiveness. Highly recommend for a date or brunch with friends. Family friendly.“

“Everything was delicious. The classic diner food that just hits that spot. There’s a line but they get it moving quickly. Waited less than ten minutes and we were seated and had our food in the next ten. Wonderful atmosphere. Lots of chatter and kitchen sounds. Just the perfect spot. The owner I’m assuming (introduced himself as Telwink) comped our meal and it just made our day. Highly recommend!“

“A group of us went in over this past weekend and to say the food is good is an understatement. I ordered the fruity pebbles sliders and those things were absolutely delicious. The cooks were very friendly and made the experience feel good. Don't be mistaken, this is not a gas station that happens to sell food, this is a restaurant that just so happens to have a gas station attached. “Had such a lovely meal and experience at Artistry, visiting with my mum :) I am Coeliac and they were so nice and accommodating, making me an absolutely delicious gluten free bowl (the sweet potato one). Amazing bonus is that they don’t cook anything breaded in the fryer so I could have the truffle Parmesan fries (to die for) without worrying about cross contamination! The butterscotch budino dessert was equally fabulous. Thank you from New Zealand!“

“I stopped by The Nickel BBQ, Seafood & Chicken over in Fifth Ward and tried the fried pork chop sandwich for $11. I’d give it a solid 3.9 out of 5. The main thing that stood out was how fresh it was — you can tell they cook it to order.

For me, it could’ve had a little more seasoning or at least black pepper, but that’s just my preference.

The service was great and fast, which I always appreciate, and the parking lot was clean — not something you always get, but it definitely adds to the experience.

“We had a wonderful brunch at Federal American Grill! The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and perfect for families. The brunch menu had a great selection with something for everyone, and everything we ordered was delicious.

The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the entire experience even better. A special shoutout to Nick, our waiter, who did a fabulous job! He was attentive, personable, and made sure we had everything we needed.

We will definitely be back and highly recommend Federal American Grill for anyone looking for a great brunch with excellent service!“

“Stayed on the property for a handful of days travelling for work. Absolutely gorgeous views, sweet staff, fun lodging & great food! Gated property so I felt safe. 10/10 recommend.“

“Visited after seeing their billboard which featured a seemingly perfectly fried wing dripping with hot sauce. We were not disappointed! Wings were cooked to a beautiful crisp, were steaming hot, and served wet with sauce. We tried Korean BBQ, Hot, Mardi Gras, and Hot Honey. Korean bbq was surprisingly spicy. Hot was a nice standard buffalo flavor, not too hot or salty. Mardi Gras was flavorful, but very mild and perfect for those who don’t like spicy food. The hot honey was good but I probably wouldn’t order it again. There are some flavors I’d still like to try like spicy peach 🍑. The french fries were seasoned well and were served hot and fresh. The fried corn was a special surprise that I would highly recommend you try. The guys running the place were very friendly and accommodating. Give em a try. We went to the Midtown location.“

When you order, you need to wait a short time for SEASONED, hot, fresh food and the gentlemen that was there today had good customer service. I'm not sure about other people, but if you aren't nice to me I don't care how good your food is and I'm so thankful it was so great. I wish your business the best and we will return. I did see the gentleman putting something on the smoker as we waited, and he had good hygiene as he added the meat. It mades

“I highly recommend this Café. I ordered to go as I’m leaving state after breakfast, but the girl that helped me carry my drinks out was super sweet. Not being from Texas I was curious about everything on the land and she was very informative (I should’ve gotten her name). I ordered the Sycamore 2s which was 2 pancakes (choice of 1/2 waffle or 2 slices French toast), 2 eggs, and 2 pieces of bacon (choice of sausage also). I got my son an order of French toast, and a friend the brunch burger. Everything was AMAZING. The server mentioned Mondays they have a mimosa special (she told me exactly but I forget it). I like over medium eggs and this is the first place I’ve been that’s gotten my eggs PERFECT the first time around. It’s an adorable little café and there’s a wedding venue in the back. “Franks Grill on Telephone Road opened in 1963 by my neighbors Frank and Bertha Mae Jones of Glenbrook Valley, Houston. I washed dishes on opening day and my mother "Pipsy" was the cashier. Frank greeted every customer personally with a smile. Bertha Mae baked the best homemade pies in the world, all from scratch. For breakfast you got a half a plate of hashbrowns with 2 sausage patties and 2 eggs. Add coffee all for under $3 Dollars. I ate there most of my life and is still good today.“

“If you get here for happy hour right at 4 they have great mixed drinks for $5 for 19 minutes and 11 seconds. Based on the year the original bank was building opened.
Tried the goat cheese and drinks. Drinks were great! Goat cheese was still a little cold inside but the bread paired with it was delicious. Gorgeous building and very good bar staff.“

The Food: Got the classic cheeseburger and fries combo ($20). The burger is a fantastic, high-quality, old-fashioned cheeseburger. No crazy gimmicks or fancy sauces, just incredibly fresh ingredients prepared with care. The only downside? The fries felt like standard frozen ones—this burger deserves fresh-cut fries!

The Service: Absolute 10/10. The staff was incredibly welcoming to a first-timer, gave great future recommendations, and checked in on my meal while keeping the place immaculate.

My only criticism is that the bacon is that typical overly hard stuff that tends to come on sandwiches that probably isn't cooked fresh. Everything else on it tho was really fresh and delicious“
