“I don't get the donuts at Daylight but only because I rarely eat donuts. So I can't speak on them - BUT - the apple fritter here at Daylight - BETTER than Round Rock Donuts. If anyone from RRD is reading this, shhhhh :D

The boudin kolaches and the sausage croissant (not the sandwich, the sausage link wrapped in a croissant, like a giant juicy pig in a croissant-y blanket - yum yum.
The staff is friendly, and I like watching them make donuts in the back!
I will say this - if you pay with a credit or debit card - there is an upcharge that they don't disclose. It's not much, like a dollar and some change more. I think the last time I went, she said the total was 21 and change and when it posted to my bank account it was 22 and change that was charged. Some people might take issue with that, so heads up. Me, I just want my bear claw and I'm happy lol“

We were promptly met we walked in with great customer service and willingness to help us reviewing the available options. We can’t wait to come back and try more of their selections. If you’re driving through Salado you have to give this place a stop!“

“We got to try Simmer Down Cafe for the first time the other night! I was surprised that there were almost no customers on a Saturday at dinner time. It seems like a pretty cool hangout spot, so maybe it gets busier later in the evening. There's a bar, a patio with seating and a pool table, a little lounge area with couches, and even a few slot machines. The food was basic but not bad, and our waiter was friendly. It's great that they have breakfast options available all day! There were two gentlemen working the whole dining room, so hopefully other staff showed up later. There was nobody behind the bar, and I did overhear one of the gentlemen say that all the bartenders were fired, but maybe he was referring to somewhere else. It's nice to see staff still in good spirits and working hard even with just two of them!“
