“We had an amazing experience at Balboa! Starting with the complimentary valet, which was quick and friendly service. The entry to the restaurant was super nice and a great photo opportunity spot. Kyrah took excellent care of us during our visit, and we loved the team style service. It felt like we had a team serving us, and they are so quick and quiet that you can continue to hold conversations and visit but someone is always near if you need anything. Kyrah took special care to "refresh" our cocktail glasses when we finished about half of our drinks, and made excellent recommendations. The food was absolutely amazing. Our table tried the fried shrimp, oysters, spicy ahi tuna roll, crab cake, Post Oak ribeye with pureed potatoes, salmon with the most delicious and unique salad, and heirloom tomatoes. The cocktails were delicious, including the Gold Rush, Rum Dum, and el Guero. The restaurant vibe is romantic but fun and sophisticated and has an open kitchen concept where you can see the food being made if you care to watch. I will most definitely be back and can confidently recommend this place to anyone!“

“We ate lunch there Monday and were impressed. Burger. Fish chips. Tonight we went back and ate dinner I ate pot roast with veggies and I can say that’s the Best Pot roast I’ve ever had. Cut with a fork. I’m in my 70s so have eaten a lot of pot roast. Husband had Tri Tip very good. Veggies. All excellent. The staff is so friendly and efficient. Will go back.“

“Eats Mesquite Grill made my two week trip to Houston memorable. It started with the pork sandwich. How can I be so blessed? I did have to come back because I saw my jealous eyes on a full stomach saw someone else's ribeye. You can see my point, can't you? I couldn't get by without a breakfast burrito, the best I had in my life because there was not too much potato, and the potato it did have was both soft and crispy somehow. I had never had a buffalo burger before. After thanking God that buffaloes have revived as a species enough that we can make burgers out of them, I discovered that it isn't discernibly different than beef. The shrimp po' boy did not escape me, half gone already in the pic. It was my deepest regret to drive out on a Sunday, when they were closed. I had to go to online church to handle the disappointment (that's a joke, although I did go to online church afterwards). It was even sadder that my schedule would not permit a revisit in my last two days. Eats Mesquite Grill. I love you.“

Atmosphere is fun, a little loud and hard to have a conversation if your too close to the band, but the band was great to enjoy. My fiancee really enjoyed his burger and fries. The fried mushrooms and pickles as our ap is our go to now. Going over the Lent season I love all the options available. I ordered the blackened fish, mashed potatoes, and fried okra my first time and the shrimp platter with fries and green beans with almonds (was like a variation of greenbean almandine). The shrimp was crunchy and flavorful, the fish was bold and balanced. The sides were all great, fried okra had a good bite, the greenbeans had a good texture, and the potatoes were a good mashed. French fries were a solid crispy fry. We will be back no doubt!“

My family lived the Paella, and the beef medallions were rich and the appetizers of fried asparagus and a mix were good, but my favorite was the shrimp cocktail. Would get that again. We were in a private room for 8, and we had an excellent time. Valet is necessary, but I felt good about parking.“

In the instance of beck’s, it is clear that it is in a class of its own and can’t be compared to crappy fast food restaurants just because it has a drive -thru window. On the contrary. “My husband and I went to Clay's today for lunch and I was thoroughly impressed. It was my first time and I ordered the chicken fried steak. It was one of the best I have had and so tender I was able to cut it very easily. We went during the lunch program and it wasn't crowded at all but the service was fantastic. Our waitress checked on us three or four times to make sure all was okay. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fantastic lunch.“
