“I was most impressed with the service. I believe our waiter was Brent and he was super helpful and on top of everything.
The manager was always making sure everything was going well and provided things for us without even asking.
Our waiter also recommended some food that was really good. The free chips and salsa were also top notch.“

“We’ve been longtime Freebirds fans and really want this location to succeed. The staff was friendly, and the manager went out of his way to cut fresh cilantro for us (after 2 other employees went to the back and said they were out), which we appreciated.

That said, our visit had several operational and cleanliness issues that were concerning. Some food on the line looked dried out or old, and there was spilled food left on the counter that wasn’t cleaned between orders.

For example, the employee preparing a burrito for the guest in front of us rolled it, unrolled it, and then gave it a firm smack on the counter, which caused part of the filling to spill out onto the prep surface. The mess that was left was then wrapped anyway. Fortunately, the customer asked for it to be remade and received a fresh one. However, the spilled food remained on the counter and was not wiped down before additional burritos (including ours) were rolled up on that same surface. We were handed foil with gunk all over it!

The tea station was out of order, and we weren’t informed before purchasing a drink. I bought the almost $3 cup for iced tea.

I do want to note that the young woman assisting us was very sweet, professional, and patient throughout the experience. I believe she said her name was Vanilla. She seemed to be doing her best in a challenging environment and handling situations that pointed more toward training and management gaps than individual effort.

I’m leaving 4 stars because the employees were kind and trying, but this location would really benefit from stronger leadership, better training, and more consistent attention to cleanliness and food handling.“

“We have been coming to this place for many years and have never been disappointed. Fajita nachos, quesadillas, enchiladas (served on corn and not flour tortillas), tacos, huevos a la Mexicana (their cooks love Serrano peppers so beware!), carne guisada, and Garcia's chicken fried chicken. You name it, it's all good.

Many of the same waitstaff have been there for a long time so management must be good. The food is what I would think is more traditional Mexican and not Tex-Mex, so it doesn't taste like other Mexican restaurants in the area, and in my opinion, it's actually better, so don't confuse them. It's a small family owned chain focused in the area just south of Austin and each location we've been to, we've not been disappointed.“

“I recently tried the pastor plate, and it delivered big on both flavor and presentation. That said, you really can’t go wrong with any of their tacos. If you ask, they’ll bring out three different salsas, which is a nice bonus. While some mention the wait, the staff seemed organized and hardworking, and it’s great that they’re fully bilingual—it makes coming here with mixed-language groups easy. The space itself was spotless, thoughtfully decorated, and had a welcoming, comfortable vibe.“

“I had their lengua plate along with a large margarita for my Bad Bunny lotería card. The food was much better than the last time I went. The service has improved as the last time I went you had to order thru a qr code and barely any person to person service.“
