I have been to NYC Delis, they do a great job here... my wife had chicken vegetable soup, I had Pastrami and Navy Bean soup. I went straight for the heart to test them...
Liverwurst or Bratwurst on Rye. My bride had the chicken breast deli sandwich.
I came here after seeing the owner (John) on KRGVs take 5. It was worth the trip. They have comfortable seating for 56 people. Great to go menu. They get fresh Lox delivered Tuesday mornings for Lox and Bagels.
We will need to come back to try the rest of the menu...“

“Held Mom's birthday party in the private room. Food was great, service was great. The Harlingen store is 1000 times better than the Brownsville location. Last time we visited they didn't even have sauce for the spaghetti..... guess they expected ppl to eat bare noodles.“

“1000% yes! I'm not really a red meat eater but I do eat carne picada/molida. The first time we went to eat I asked if they could make carne picada tacos and cookie said "yes of course". My family and myself have been going ever since! Cookie and her staff are the BEST and their tacos, frijoles and the agua de melon NEVER disappoint! We always feel welcomed like family! Thank you Cookie! ❤️😊“

“I really like the food here. The chicken fried steak is better than all the other nearby places. Their parmesian chicken is also really good. The staff is always really good as well. Almost forgot, the chocolate stampede is a great dessert too.“

“I have loved the Chicken Potpie since coming to Cheddars to eat. I've had at least 6 of them and then the one I had last summer had no chicken in it. I said nothing to anyone, just deciding to not come back for a while. We stopped there with two other couples today and I thought...try it again. Before they used to have lots of white chicken chunks, this one today had very few pieces of chicken. What has happened to it?“

“Stopped by after church Saturday with some friends for dinner. I hadn't been by in quite some time and I was happy I did. I ordered the impossible burger (vegetarian) and it was delicious.😋 Two of my friends ordered from the 2 for $25 menu. Pictured here is the classic bacon cheeseburger from that menu on the right and my impossible burger on the left. Both were really good.“

The banquet they serve is passing good and did please the palate well, and those who attend thee are of a most friendly disposition. A marvelous, hearth-like comfort doth permeate the entire space—a homely air that blessed this rustic place, the which doth ever content my spirit.
Now list to this single critique, which I offer to the worthy host to mend the flaw that vexed my spirit most: I pray thee, let soft cushions be bestowed upon the bare wooden benches within thy booths, lest thy guests find the seating somewhat o'er-firm for their ease through long and merry stays!
Therefore, to all souls I cry: if fortune finds thee near this place, I urge thee, step within and witness the wonders that there do dwell! For I shall most assuredly commend this house unto all good company, and my own steps shall, without fail, turn hitherward again.“

Same update and info in 2025, still having meetings here.. the harlingen location is better than Brownsville, the Brownsville spot never smells well & they forgot several people's orders when there were only 3 overall different tables with people, not good“

“Checked out JC Wings after a recommendation that they have the best wings in the Valley. I can’t really argue with that because the wings were excellent. Thursday special was 6 boneless wings, fries and unsweetened tea. I got the lemon pepper and friend got the JC sauce. Both were tasty and wings were large chunks of white meat, gently breaded. Seasoned fries were perfect and I got a custom burger on the side that was well cooked, sturdy bun that didn’t fall apart, and tea was fresh. We weren’t sure that it was even open when we pulled up, but the place quickly filled with locals and we realized we just beat the rush. Staff was friendly and helpful.“
