“Gave it a four only because of Monica the bartender she’s amazing. Doorman Gonzo however is a power tripping joke. A group of us came in 8 to be exact 7 females one male, we came in from the monthly truck meet. All but 3 females were mid to late 40’s including myself (49) the male my boyfriend is 51 we walk in go to the bar and Gonzo shows up out of no where (wasn’t at the door) and starts telling me I need your ID, the younger ones had theirs mine was in my truck, I told him my date of birth clearly I’m way over 21 but then he starts power tripping, Monica told him no it’s fine they’re of age and he proceeds to repeat over and over obnoxiously “I need to see ID” what a joke normally I’d be flattered however he was just being a j**** we go in there frequently during our truck meets and I’ve never experienced a doorman abusing his pseudo authority they way he did, I’ll make sure when going there next month we send a scout in to make sure that j*** isn’t “manning” the place. I will say that I’ve always had really great experiences with all other bartenders and doormen there.“

“First went there earlier this year, impressed us the minute we walked in the door, employees greet you upon entering with a truly warm, illuminating smile. When we were seated, we wanted to watch a certain game and the manager, Laura really went out of her way, bent over backwards to ensure they found the game(s) we wanted to watch, then ensured that the games would stay on ! The waitress who waited on us ( can't remember her name ) was exactly like the manager, helpful, courteous and quick with her service, thus resulting in making this our favorite location for watching sports with the drinks and menu items to order, with this type service, we will always make this our number 1 location !! “Great bar! Go on Monday's to take advantage of their trivia night and Cheap Shit Monday! Well drinks and certain beers only 2.50 a drink. They're food is pretty good too. Nothing fancy but still well made. The bartenders are attentive and curtious.“

“It’s not every day you get to meet the person an establishment is named after, but that’s exactly what happened last night when my friends and I went to grab a drink and enjoy some live music. We arrived just in time for Happy Hour on Friday, which runs from 2 p.m. to close—great prices and delicious drinks to start the evening off right. The atmosphere was fantastic, with vibrant vibes that made the night feel special.
As the night went on, we got super hungry, and that’s when the real surprise hit. We started with fried okra and bacon, and I was blown away. The fried okra was perfectly crispy, paired with a homemade ranch that was simply irresistible. The bacon was sweet, cooked to perfection, and came hanging from a cool contraption—definitely a fun touch! The quesadilla we ordered next was out of this world. By the third dish, I knew the quality of the food was far beyond what I expected—it was clear these folks really care about what they serve and put so much love into every bite.
My friends and I came for a good time, but we ended up leaving with full bellies and a new favorite spot to visit more often. But the night didn’t end there. Lucy, the owner (and the namesake of the restaurant), came by to serve us the best fried chicken in San Antonio—and quite possibly all of Texas! She wasn’t kidding when she said the bucket of fried chicken would be life-changing and spiritually awakening. It was absolutely the best fried chicken I’ve had since living in Georgia!
Lucy’s hospitality was second to none. She personally checked on every guest, and her staff followed suit, making us feel like we were family. To top it off, we ordered her special beignets, which were to die for.
When it was time to leave, Lucy herself was at the door, sending us off with a smile. This place has quickly become one of my top spots, all from just one visit. They’re committed to elevated service and food, and the use of beef tallow for frying is a game changer—it not only makes everything taste amazing but is also a healthier choice. Don’t forget to try their homemade sauces, especially the hot sauce! I truly hope everyone gives this place a try—you’re missing out if you don’t.“

“I always have a wonderful time when I come to Alibis. The staff is amazing , and very attentive. Anytime I need to celebrate an occasion, this is my go to place. The drinks are made to perfection and sweet prices! They always have drink specials as well , so I'd definitely recommend you all to pop in and get to know the awesome locals who frequent there too!“

“Attentive, accommodating and fun staff. Great drink specials daily and monthly. There are plenty of things to do, like play on 4 tournament size shuffleboard tables, darts, pool and video golf. There is also a nice patio you can take your drinks out on and watch sports. The patrons are very friendly and welcoming as well.“

“First time coming here and had a wonderful experience! Our waitress Claire was so nice and attentive .. she was a sweetheart. The drinks were spot on and delicious! The atmosphere was great. Food was good for fried bar food not greasy like some we have tried. Music was all genras ..all was missing was tejano songs lol..hint hint.. it was clean and no smoking which was a plus for us. “Great service. We came in when they just opened for the day. The owner was very inviting. We asked if they were serving food, but she said not until about 7 pm. Later, she came to us and offered to make a fish sandwich and fries for us, which we thought was very kind. It looks like a fun place to come for an evening. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be back.“

“Wings were excellent, better than Buffalo Wild Wings, Pluckers, and Wing Stop, and a cheaper. Service was a bit slow, but they were also extremely busy at the time, so it was to be expected. Music was good, varied, and not too loud. 10/10 would go again, fiancée's new favorite spot.

“It is a good place to relax and visit until the bands show up. Then you can't hear each other. The Crispy Chicken is the BEST in San Antonio area! It would be nice if they had more draft choices. Usually only have 4, but they have several varieties in cans and bottles. Park early or else park across the tracks.“

“The top sirloin was fair , not to tasty and cut of meat was tough. The Chicken and Shrimp was delicious. Our our server, Kota" was fantastic . Will come back again because of her delightful service.

“Fantastic spot to play pool, darts, and smoke INSIDE. I thought there weren’t anymore places in San Antonio that allowed smoking inside but I was wrong. This place really is a diamond in the rough, I was actually in my way to another bar when I saw this one. Decided to stop by and stayed all night. Will be returning.“

“Great bar and grill with friendly staff and customers. Tricia is a GREAT bartender, organized, quick and friendly!! I especially like their Sunday buffets but they also have shuffleboard, pool and karaoke and lots of TV to watch your favorite program/sport!!! Highly recommend this place.“
