“I ordered the 12 pc family meal and it ranks as follows:
Chicken tenders: excellent! Very tender and juicy! Very flavorful.
Biscuits: soft and fluffy, but plain
Fries: good!!! I like the spices they use and were fried just right!
Mac and cheese: Delicious! Liked this second best after the tenders.

Service was good! Ladies behind the counter were nice!

Downsides: There is no place to eat there, just a bar type island against the window. I wish they had bone-in chicken, cuz if the tenders are that juicy, I’d love to try bone-in chicken! Also, I ordered sweet tea and got unsweetened tea instead! It wasn’t horrible, but I’m a sweet tea kind of gal! Overall it was good.”

“I come here occasionally passing through for work and get chicken tenders and okra and I've yet to be disappointed from this place. It's a Bush's not gourmet, this is probably the best Bush's I've stopped at in years.”

“Love the freaky Friday cake; but the service sucks! If kids don’t want to work then they don’t need to because all they do is make the experience suck! Went in and got waited on by a tall skinny curly hair kid, I didn’t get his name but he was African American, he has an attitude the whole time, no friendliness at all and all I got was a 4 pack and he had no rush to make my order and I was the only one in there. Kids just gotta do better! I was there on tuesday.”

“We were in on Christmas Eve. Short handed crew, crowded with customers. Alexis and (Butter)John along with the duty manager took care of us like we were the only people there! The kitchen did an excellent job on the steaks and the vegetables were perfect. Baked potato was as usual, ready to eat with plenty of butter, and hot. Got spoiled by these guys! Happy for sure.”

“Texas heat calls for eating light. J Petal & Poke is just the place to go. Went today for the first time. Ordered a bowl with salmon, shrimp, and chicken on brown rice. Lots of great toppings, like mango and purple cabbage. Sesame and ginger sauce brought it all together. Staff were super friendly and helpful. I’ll be back and you should give it a try. “It pains me to give them anything less than 5 star, but I needed to write something about how bad the pumpkin spice ground coffee you get from there is. Almost every other ground coffee is good. However, this year's seasonal is horrendously weaker and lacking of any actual coffee flavor. Again, everything else about this place is phenomenal and I highly recommend going here. Just do not get the seasonal roast.”

“Great breakfast/brunch stop while traveling from Dallas to Austin! The staff was very friendly and patient with my two picky eaters. The only suggestion I’d make is to offer regular pancakes for kids, since some little ones might not love the wheat version. My 9-year-old and I thought they were delicious, but my 6-year-old didn't because it was wheat . He's just a picky eater!

“Allergies….my wife has developed severe gluten, dairy and egg allergies in the last few years. YAKI specializes in food prep WITHOUT allergy concerns!! They came up when we looked up gluten free options while visiting Waco and what a God-send! We spoke with Jake and encouraged him and the vision he has for helping people that can’t partake in regular food! If you’re in the Waco area, I highly recommend YAKI, whether or not you have a food allergy! I would really like to see YAKI branch out to serve more people, so help them out! EATYAKI!”
