“my beautiful wife and I had a blast..The people and establishment are great...It's a hometown owned tavern.I have known Robert and Vincent G,for decades, they are my family. I recommend visiting for a great time of dancing a few adult beverages and fun..Very laid back establishment (friendly)... You won't be disappointed....much love to my Guerrero brothers..blessings upon you all....(GO NINERS)..”
“Very tasty. Much better than you would expect from a gas station taco joint. Could use a better explanation of what was spicy and what wasn't for the uninitiated.”
“Just visiting from CA and we LOVE THIS PLACE!! The green tea is amazing and the atmosphere is awesome!!! It is the perfect feel good place to come to… Wonderful energy and it’s just the best way to spend our morning!”
“THIS is the place for amazing southern BBQ.Myself and 2 friends came down to Texas for work and spent the weekend in Waco.. we came across this place and even hours after being there. Were all still speechless.. From the genuine hospitality, to the amazing food it was truly an all around great experience. If I'm ever around the area again, I will 100% be coming back. Thanks for a great experience on our hunt to find great southern BBQ.- Your Canadian friends! ???”
“Came in with my bestie and SIX kids all under 10 years old. Everyone was very kind and accommodating despite the fact our rugrats were bouncing off the walls. Very affordable (seriously, 5.99 for a kids meal that come in a little car?! Love it!) I will definitely stop again next time I’m in Waco! ”
“We are a military family. I was super excited to find this location in TX after moving from Kansas, where Hawaiian Bros. was super accessible. It is always a great experience when stopping through in Waco from Killeen.”
“My friend and I were visiting from out of town and had such a great time at Segovia - it was the perfect atmosphere to relax, hang out and have a couple of excellent glasses of wine. We felt very well taken care of by the owner. I can’t wait to go back!”
“The ambiance, the food, the service was all top notch! The Sommelier was a dream. She was very knowledgeable, educated, and you could feel her love for her job. I wanted to experiment and she was enthusiastic to oblige. Fantastic wine collection. I highly recommend asking to speak to her before you choose your wine. Food was wonderful as always. Staff was kind & professional. ❤️I will surely be back.”
“I don't leave a lot of reviews, especially for restaurants, but WOW! This place is amazing! We started out with the chips and dips appetizer and were immediately impressed with the flavors and authenticity. Guacamole was spicy perfection. Drinks came shortly after that, and the spicy margaritas have got to have some extra carino mixed in because it tasted like love. The main entrees were carne guisada and Bistec Ranchero. The flavors were bold, the spices were perfect, the whole experience was exceptional. Although we were just passing through today, this place is definitely worth the 2 hour drive to revisit!”
“The service was great and the food. It’s been years since I’ve been here and it was my boyfriend first time. It is still the same as I remember. Love this place. ?Parking: The parking was great too”
“These cookies are addictive. They can bring you happiness or ruin your life, depending on your levels of self-control. This is both a recommendation and a warning.”
“Fantastic Meal! We had the "splurge meal" of our trip here and it was divine. The Rosemary Cheddar Popovers were still hot and so delicious, my fiancé had the lobster bisque and really enjoyed it. I had the Lobster Escargot and haven't stopped thinking it since. I went online at the table and ordered an escargot pan on Amazon to make this at home. HIGHLY suggest this appetizer. I opted for the wedge salad with my steak (odd to me that they upcharge for bacon on a a wedge) and it was fine, my fiancé really enjoyed his house salad and said it was crisp and refreshing and the dressing was perfect. He opted for the 10pz filet, it was soft and flavorful, I had the Ribeye and the char was perfection. I wish we weren't traveling and I could have brought the rest with me. We split the mashed potato's and they were perfect. Our server, Chastity, was awesome. Very nice, knowledgeable and attentive. 5/5 all around.”
“We enjoyed all the beers we tried, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Additionally, the burgers were among the best we have had and we can’t even pinpoint what magic made them so good! The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my meal was safe for my dairy allergy, which I really appreciate and find is rare. The slaw is dairy-free and a spicy delight. The bun was dairy-free and, though I didn’t have the beans, they were also dairy-free. We are going to drive through there on our way home just so we can eat and drink there again! This is the stop that convinced my husband to make a 6 hour road trip and now he is not only willing but wants to repeat the drive so we can stop here again.”
“I ordered the milk tea boba with 50% sugar it tasted like it didn’t have any sugar ??♀️ the kitchen was closed so I couldn’t try to pho. It’s a new business.”
“If you're looking for good Mexican food in TX, this is definitely a good spot to check out. It's small but has a lot to offer. Their spicy beans are so good! The service is great too, they will take care of you there.”
“This BBQ tasted awesome! We had ribs and brisket- it was soo good! The people were very nice. We enjoyed the atmosphere- it wasn't fancy but it was good. We highly recommend eating here.”
“Who knew Oak and Ivy had brunch! What a great place for brunch! We visited with a large group. Everyone ordered something different and we all shared. Great variety for breakfast. Shrimp and grits were very tasty. Shareable Cinnamon rolls. Food came quickly and portions were generous. Pancakes were huge! Great conversations with owner. We didn't partake but nice bar selections also.”
“This delightful little restaurant lived up to our expectations! The delicious gyro plate had a generous amount of meat, and the Lebanese salad was a wonderful accompaniment. The baba gahnouj was good, but I think I like the yogurt and cucumber salad even more. And my spouse's fried okra was fresh and done just right. And the gentleman who took our order (pretty sure he is the owner or co-owner) was very charming to chat with. As noted in other reviews, it is a very small restaurant so get there early. We showed up just after 11 a.m. and got our orders in about 10 minutes before the place started filling up. Even if it's crowded when you get there, it's worth the wait. Don't forget to save room for a piece of baklava for dessert!”
“I went and got tamales today? Yummy!!!! She even let me try a hot one which I thought I could handle lol, she offered me water I told her I could handle it, got in the car took a bite and OMG ? THAT WAS HOT! BUT GOOD!!! ? Thanks for making awesome tamales and being so nice.”
“First time to have fresh noodles with Spam, but we were pleasantly surprised! Start-up location has some fun, quirky decorations, but really forgot everything else once we tasted the food!”
“This is one of the best bars in Waco. It's always a first recommendation. It's a total vibe. The staff are all wonderful. The community is amazing too. They have excellent selections from rail to top shelf. Whether your solo or with friends its a fantastic atmosphere for sharing drinks and conversation. Always a vibe. Cheers! ????”
“Quick Version: Come try it. It’s delicious.Long version: I walked in first time and right away was like, “This place going to be good because they have aunties and grannies working in the kitchen.” I was right. The torta cubana is good and they don’t cheap out on the ingredients. It had that thick ham not that deli sliced ham. They put either mayonnaise or butter when they toast the bread and cheese. The little things that elevate the taste, you know? When I try out a new taqueria, I like to order 1 taco of lengua and 1 of tripas. If they cook those two meats good, the rest is going to be good. Let me tell you their lengua is good. It’s soft without being mushy or blocky. AND, on a homemade tortilla boooooy! I didn’t expect that. It was delicious. The aunties treated us really well and made my coworker and I feel at home. They were very nice and friendly and even gave that regaño de abuelita because my coworker didn’t finish his torta LOL! It was really heartwarming. The horchata was good too.I would only recommend two things. A little more taste and spiciness on the salsas. Quiero moquear de lo picoso ?. And some love to the walls or decorations would really brighten up the place.Try the place. You won’t regret it.”
“Hidden gem! Fresh waffle cones! I’ve been to other ice cream shops that run out of waffle cones and just say they are out. Not here! They were fresh and thin and crispy and perfect. The guy working was very helpful and recommended flavors. He was very quick and took care of everyone in line without much wait time at all. The whole vibe of this place is fantastic! Can’t wait to go back!!! Been driving past it for almost 2 years everyday and had no clue it was there!”
“Super fun place. I live in blue political territory so I had to visit the Waco store after visiting the Waco Zoo. I love supporting Veteran owned businesses.I wanted to support the company so I bought a cap and sweatshirt with my coffee and coffee cake. It came to just under $100.They are avid gun lovers here so if that bothers you, perhaps think twice about going. However, I'm a liberal from CA who opposed automated weapons but loves the hunting culture. I was welcomed like family. Good people and great coffee!I'll be back!”
“We found y’all while picking up a load today. It’s rare to find food this delicious that has truck parking as well. Pork belly with fried rice and crab wontons for me, loaded fries and shrimp eggrolls for my husband. There’s so much food we have enough for another meal. Thank you for being here for truckers and for filling iur bellies. ☺️ — feeling excited with Chris Barnes at A Taste of Laos.”
“The best Cajun/New Orleans food in Waco…not even close. Actually as good or better than many places we’ve eaten at in New Orleans. This is a tiny restaurant with minimal atmosphere but don’t let that distract you from the great food. We will definitely be back.”
“Hunter was amazing! It was our first visit and he shared his knowledge of the entrees with us and we chose the Pecan Crusted Trout and the Lobster & Shrimp Grilled Cheese. Both were fantastically delicious!”
“Surprise find on a Saturday! Mini cinnamon rolls, mini ham kolaches were our picks. Then we took home scones, chocolate chip cookies and a blueberry muffin! Love it! In a unique location with patio seating. That serve lunch too so I will be back for that next!Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free choices”
“My family has been eating burgers here since the 1980’s if you are anywhere around Bellmead right outside Waco take the time to stop by this local hamburger joint!”
“Great little hole in the wall with REAL authentic Mexican food! Waitress was bilingual and service was fast. Everything tasted amazing, will definitely come back again to try new dishes!”
