The lady taking our order was so nice, spoke great English, and gave us perfect recommendations.
At her suggestion, I ordered the Pollo con Tajadas. It was a phenomenal fried chicken dish—lightly sauced and served over a bed of fresh fried thin plantains, crisp julienned cabbage, and incredible pickled onions. The portion was massive!
My daughter ordered the Tacos Hondureños and absolutely loved them—another huge, delicious portion with zero regrets. We also tried the Honduran Horchata, which was a fantastic new experience; it’s made with ground seeds and nuts, giving it a unique, delicious flavor profile.

To top it off, we met the owner. She was exceptionally kind, proud of her Honduran culture, and shared a lovely passion for Texas. I can’t express enough how great the food and hospitality were. Highly recommend checking this spot out!

“Stopped there last year on my way to see my sister in New Braunfels and got me some pancakes, they put some extra silverware in the bag and it was two sets of pancakes where I ate one in the car and one at my sister’s house before I went to church that Sunday in New Braunfels and I know that Saturday was busy when I came in there. “These are the most amazing tacos I have had. I left Northwest Arkansas and came down to Austin and had many tacos, from many spots along the way. These were the best! We drove over an hour the next day back to the Taqueria for some more!! Must try, if you haven't. The watermelon agua fresca was amazing as well.

“Don’t let the bars on the windows fool you. You know when your brisket sandwich comes on loaf bread it’s going to be good. My husband and I are from Mississippi and was in Waco for the day. Jasper’s is exactly the kind of place we like to find. The brisket was outstanding. I had the Waco Tornado and it was the best meal of our trip in Texas! Highly recommend!”

“This place was great! Rarely do you take 6 kids to a sit down restaurant and feel actually welcomed. The staff was all so sweet, encouraged the kids to look around and ride in their state trooper car, even gave them quarters to use. The food was great! The kids loved that they got theirs delivered in cars. We all had burgers and fries. Fresh, homemade goodness. definitely recommend and will be back.”
