“Smoking Buns is an amazing find. We live in Temple so it's a bit of a drive to West, TX but, absolutely worth the wait. I have learned in my time that you should never pass up restaurants because of their appearance or the surrounding area. That said, from the parking lot, you can smell that there is an amazing BBQ meal awaiting you. The inside decor is very inviting and feels like home. Ordering was a breeze and the service was great. I got their sliced brisket sandwich with a side of onion rings. The brisket was very good but when you add some of their BBQ sauce it becomes so good that y'all will order more. We plan to visit Smokin' Buns at least monthly!! Highly recommended!!”

“This is a delicious hideaway from the commercialized one that's right off the highway. The breading out dough, however you want to put it, is delicious and so soft. The rolls are HUGE. This place is great and has become our new stop in West! And the prices are UNBEATABLE!”

“Fantastic Meal! We had the "splurge meal" of our trip here and it was divine. The Rosemary Cheddar Popovers were still hot and so delicious, my fiancé had the lobster bisque and really enjoyed it. I had the Lobster Escargot and haven't stopped thinking it since. I went online at the table and ordered an escargot pan on Amazon to make this at home. HIGHLY suggest this appetizer. I opted for the wedge salad with my steak (odd to me that they upcharge for bacon on a a wedge) and it was fine, my fiancé really enjoyed his house salad and said it was crisp and refreshing and the dressing was perfect. He opted for the 10pz filet, it was soft and flavorful, I had the Ribeye and the char was perfection. I wish we weren't traveling and I could have brought the rest with me. We split the mashed potato's and they were perfect. Our server, Chastity, was awesome. Very nice, knowledgeable and attentive. 5/5 all around.”

“This delightful little restaurant lived up to our expectations! The delicious gyro plate had a generous amount of meat, and the Lebanese salad was a wonderful accompaniment. The baba gahnouj was good, but I think I like the yogurt and cucumber salad even more. And my spouse's fried okra was fresh and done just right. And the gentleman who took our order (pretty sure he is the owner or co-owner) was very charming to chat with. As noted in other reviews, it is a very small restaurant so get there early. We showed up just after 11 a.m. and got our orders in about 10 minutes before the place started filling up. Even if it's crowded when you get there, it's worth the wait. Don't forget to save room for a piece of baklava for dessert!”

“The best Cajun/New Orleans food in Waco…not even close. Actually as good or better than many places we’ve eaten at in New Orleans. This is a tiny restaurant with minimal atmosphere but don’t let that distract you from the great food. We will definitely be back.”

“I’m craving the yucca fries already. Smaller place but that just makes for a more intimate experience. Worth any wait if you get there and there is one; we went a little later in the evening and there was an open table for us upon arrival. We all got something different and shared bites of each other’s meal and everything just was so good. I remember when they opened in Union Hall a while back and we tried it and probably went back 4 or 5 times that week and it was our go to place to bring friends from out of town….that being said this location was even better I think. Definitely will go back and hopefully soon. The salsa was delicious and even though it had a little kick, I couldn’t stop eating it or get enough!”

“Absolutely great! Unique taste mixing Jamaican with Texas barbecue. Every part of the meal was fantastic. Even if you aren't familiar with Jamaican / Caribbean food, this is a great option. They are currently only on Baylor campus in a food truck.”

“First time eating here. It was amazing! Of course, I had to try the oriental fries everyone raves about. No words. I could eat them everyday for the rest of my life! I can only imagine what their own native dishes taste like. I'm willing to devote my time to try every single thing on their menu! Even their American dishes are fantastic. Highly recommend! “Ate here on a crazy-busy Friday at lunch time. Total props to the 10-person (at least) crew working the counter, putting all the food together, and getting it out. The in-house bread used for the sandwiches really is outstanding. I enjoyed my sandwich, though I could have used some sort of sauce to give it a little kick, as it was all bread/meat/veggies/butter from what I could tell (Schmaltz sandwich). I would definitely go again, though, the next time we are in town.”
